Pulled off a miracle

The call from our son at the Denver County detention center came on Saturday afternoon, June 22nd. "Please help me, I've been in jail for 4 days, arrested and charged with DUI and several traffic offenses." We were in Virginia. I packed a bag and drove to Denver (earliest flight was Monday) non st...op to get him released on bond. First thing - find him a good lawyer. His mom came up with a list of about a half dozen lawyers based on online reviews. We reviewed them over the phone (I think I was driving through Kentucky at the time). Jim Stanley was our first choice based on the reviews. If anything they were understated to put it very mildly. We contacted and retained Jim on Monday morning. Jim quickly learned that our son also had two pending cases in Jefferson County - FTA for a probation revocation hearing for a 2018 DWAI conviction and a DUI. Talk about complex. Based on the facts and evidence in all cases, Jim formed a strategy to 1. Get help for our son - detox, recovery, and rehabilitation, medical and therapeutic. Jim made it clear to us that our son's health and well being were clearly the most important aspects of these cases. 2. Communicate continuously with the District Attorneys in all cases all the progress our son was making through professional medical and therapeutic help. Back this up with documentation. Make the case that our son was no longer a danger to himself or others. Jim was relentless and succeeded on all fronts. The DAs hold a lot of sway with the Judges and the Judges put lot of credence in what they say and recommend. Dealing with the DAs is clearly Jim's forte. 3. Show the DAs and Judges that our son was going above and beyond to get professional help and not just doing what POs and pre-trial officers required. 4. Show the DAs and Judges that our son has a very strong support system of friends, relatives, immediate family, employer, customers, etc. In our opinion most important is immediate family - especially mother and father if possible. Do this through detailed letters to the DAs/Judges. 5. Continue cases until our son had the time to get firmly into the medical and therapeutic treatment programs he so desperately needed, for Jim to prepare and disseminate associated documentation for the DA/Judges, and to verbally communicate this information to the DAs. 6. When the time was right based on all data and information provided to the DAs, work out plea agreements with the DAs. In court, written and verbal testimony from the DAs, our son, and immediate family carried the day. Even Jim was surprised at how favorable one of the cases turned out. In the end (today, 2 November, more than 4 months later) our son is not incarcerated, his fines and court costs manageable, and he is in a therapeutic program that is working. He is well on the road to recovery and back to being a productive member of society. Our son's lawyer, Jim Stanley, made this all happen. I cannot heap enough praise on him. He was spot on with everything he directed our son and us, his parents, to do. We have him to thank for our son's freedom and for being firmly on the road to recovery. It is still a long road, but thanks to Jim, our son is on it and headed in the right direction. 5 stars does not do Jim justice. Make it 10. Thanks a lot Jim.

Nothing short of amazing

I had some serious charges against me that were jeopardizing my future. I had interviewed with a few lawyers and once I had spoken with Mr. Jim Stanley, I knew that I had found the best person to represent me and help me through this difficult time. Mr. Stanley worked very hard on my case and communi...cated with me every step of the way. I feel that he is a very compassionate and caring person. I am very thankful to have had Mr. Stanley on my side as he achieved the best outcome that was possible for my situation and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of an amazing lawyer. He saved my life!

He Achieved A Miracle for me. Forever Grateful

Jim ACHIEVED A MIRACLE in my situation. I Received a Ticket beginning of the year 29 point ticket. Reckless driving , leaving the scene and failure to report an accident. With 2 DUI's on my record. I was looking at Jail time and definitely losing my license. I knew I needed to hire private council. ...Based off the AVO reviews I retained James. One month later another 6 point speeding ticket.... Jim got my charge dismissed and I pled guilty to a defective vehicle charge. 3 days before court on my 29 point ticket, I received another ticket 4 points. Charges were dropped to Defective vehicle. James was able to get the DA on the phone and Negotiate a deal for me. After she had been dodging everyone else for months , I know this because other attorneys stated they were unable to reach the DA which is why they needed an extension. James got all my charges Dropped. I pled guilty to careless driving for 6 points on a 29 point ticket. 3 major traffic violations later within 2 months. I was able to keep my license with points to spare. NO probation , no community service. James resolved my Tickets in a timely manner. He was quick with response to my emails and questions , and believe me I had a lot. He is direct with his prices no hidden fees or additional charges. Mostly he is transparent and tells you the facts not what you want to hear like most attorneys. Jimmy the Dropped , Jim Justice should be his nickname. His No Games, NO BS approach on how he handles your case and the DA is comforting and I knew I was in good hands. A huge Thank you to the Stanley Law Office for his years of experiences and dedication to the job , for helping me get through a tough time in my life. I would be in Jail and unable to drive for a long time when I got out without him. I owe this man my life and he is worth every dollar and the reviews are on him are accurate. Hiring James was the best decision I've made in a long time.

DUI down to DWAI and DUI DMV case dismissed

I can't even begin to express my gratitude to James Stanley. I was charged with DUI, careless driving and open container. Had a blood draw BAC of .183. He somehow worked with the DA to get the charge lowered to a DWAI with 12 months probation and all other charges dropped with no fines and no jail ti...me. Even the Judge said you have an amazing attorney to avoid jail time and a dwai with that BAC. Next he was able to get my DMV case completely dismissed... no interlock, no points, no license suspension. He worked so hard and was always available when I needed him. He was extremely knowledgeable and caring. I dont know what I would have done without him. He lives up to the reviews about him! It is a big decision trying to choose the right lawyer. And I can assure you James Stanley is right one for you too. Thanks James for saving me.

ASSAULT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE DISMISSED

I don't feel that it is an overstatement to say that Mr. Stanley saved my life. He was a tireless and aggressive advocate on my behalf. He doggedly pursued my case with the DA's office, highlighting all of the inconsistencies in the complaining witness statements, as well as uncovering every flaw in... the case by going over every aspect of the investigation and reporting by law enforcement. In addition, Mr. Stanley demonstrated a vast amount of patience with me, as I had never been in any sort of legal trouble, whatsoever, and had an endless number of questions. Mr. Stanley empathetically answered every one. It is incredibly rare to find an attorney who actually cares and goes the extra mile, but Mr. Stanley is just such an attorney. I cannot recommend Mr. Stanley highly enough.

"I endorse this lawyer. I'm a lawyer in Connecticut. A local client needed a referral for a DWI arrest in Colorado. Very fortunately we found Jim Stanley. He won the DMV hearing even though the facts were not all that favorable and he negotiated a plea to avoid loss of license. I was involved as intermediary. Jim was readily available to me and the client. The results could not have been better. I heartily recommend Jim."

"I've worked with Jim for many years, first as a felony prosecutor and now on my side as a criminal defense attorney. I have great respect for his knowledge of the law and fairness that he brought to prosecuting my clients. He was always a man of his word, and that is not universal in our profession. Now as a criminal defense attorney, he brings a huge advantage to his clients as he knows the inside of the opposition, how they think and work, and can turn that to his clients' benefit. He also has excellent knowledge of the law, much more so than the average prosecutor, which again only works to the benefit of his defense clients. I recommend Jim highly."

"I have practiced on the other side of the courtroom during Jim's tenure as a felony prosecutor of the Jefferson County, Colorado, Office of the District Attorney. I can say that at that time Jim was a formidable opponent who prosecuted cases fairly and ethically. Now that Jim has been practicing criminal defense law, I can see that he is investing the same degree of care, knowledge and proficiency he invested as a prosecutor in each criminal case he defends. I have been thoroughly impressed with the dedication and resourcefulness he invests in the defense of his clients who face pending criminal charges. His defense to say the least is vigorous and thorough. Jim is one of the best criminal defense lawyers I have known in my seventeen years of practice as a criminal defense lawyer, and of course, I would enthusiastically and without reservation recommend Jim to anyone facing charges. He is what I call a top-drawer attorney. Peter D. Larato Attorney at Law"

"JIm has recently left the world of prosecution and entered the world of private practice. I've known him since my fledgling days in the Jefferson County DA's office over 16 years ago. Recently, I've managed to have several cases against him when he was a prosecutor. I have always found Jim to be passionate about his cases while open minded about resolution. He is a strong advocate for his clients and always prepared for court. He has managed some of the largest dockets in the state and his trial practice is paramount."
