My experience with Leanna Grimm as opposing counsel was extremely negative. In what should have been a straightforward custody matter, she repeatedly over-litigated the case, driving legal fees for my son’s father to approximately $68,000. She later attempted to pursue those fees from me and was unsu...ccessful. Throughout the case, Ms. Grimm submitted statements to the court about me that were demonstrably untrue and were ultimately disproven. She aggressively sought full custody on behalf of her client and failed. The final outcome resulted in me being awarded majority custody and decision-making authority regarding my son’s schooling. Her approach appeared unnecessarily adversarial and escalated conflict rather than resolving it. Prior to my retaining my own attorney, she sent late-night communications that felt threatening in tone, including suggestions that she would involve the court if I did not respond in the manner she wanted. Once I obtained legal representation, her conduct changed significantly. In my opinion, this case was dragged out far beyond what was reasonable, creating unnecessary stress and financial burden. A $68,000 bill for a custody case that ultimately resulted in a near 50/50 outcome is excessive. I would caution anyone considering working with her to be prepared for prolonged litigation and heightened conflict.
