Hired on retainer to do 4 years of back taxes, I spent hours digging through information and making a spreadsheet so it was easier for her. She did about 15 minutes worth of work for me copy and paste items from an excel spreadsheet I made into an excel sheet she had. She changed companies and left m...e hanging. When contacted back I was told the money I put for retainer was for only 1 year of taxes. $500 for 1 year of taxes...….Definitely not what we had agreed on when talking on the phone since my issue was specific to 4 years of taxes. Where is the win win here? I got suckered and learned an expensive lesson to not use independent tax people. I will use someone from a radio advertisement before using an independent again. Such a shame, I had such high hopes.
