A lawyer that will not be bullied and Fight for you!

I was forced to declare Bankrupsy mostly because of business debt. Matt thoroughly explained to me what that meant and was clear my life would not be over. There was a debtor that wanted one of my loans to be non dismissive $150,000 and Matt made it Hell for them and defended me, backed me up and e...xplained my side. After a 6 month fight he made them back off and it was dismissed. I will forever be great full.

Matt did a awesome job

Had Matt work on a bankruptcy collection case. It is obvious he cares about his clients and does everything he can to assist them in winning their case. He is very responsive to calls, everything was done on time, and he helped me win my case and get paid. Great attorney! I highly recommend him

Extremely knowledgeable and skilled

My case involved a creditor trying to collect a discharged debt. While the local county court initially ruled in my favor that the debt was no longer collectible, the creditor managed to convince the judge to reverse the ruling so they could continue garnishing my wages illegally. At this point, my f...ormer lawyer who assisted me in my original bankruptcy case referred me to Matthew Skeen, Jr. Right off the bat, Matt seemed extremely knowledgeable about the finer details of bankruptcy laws and I felt confident we would prevail. After all, the law was on our side. The problem was the judge didn’t know bankruptcy laws well and continued to incorrectly rule against us. Our case, which should have been a quick one, took nearly six months but Matt preserved and never gave up. I will admit, there were times when I thought, “What if they still rule against us?” Whenever that happened, I would reread the filings Matt filed and they were facts, facts, facts and straight to the point. The filings reassured me that there was no way we would lose with Matt’s skills and knowledge of the law. Our case eventually moved to both the Bankruptcy and District courts, and fortunately the creditor agreed to settle outside the court before proceeding further in the case. Matt was able to recover my garnished wages and I couldn’t be happier. Matt was very professional throughout the ordeal and I really appreciate how easy it was to communicate with him via email. He was happy to answer any questions that arose and made me comfortable throughout this nerve-wracking experience. Matt is a sound lawyer and I highly recommend him. Thank you again, Matt.

Excellent.

I hired Matt as my lawyer because I had to file bankruptcy because of my divorce. From day one he made me feel very comfortable and knowledgable about this whole process. He also had to make some pretty tough phone calls to some creditors for me and seemed happy to do it, which I can not thank him en...ough for. Overall it was a great experience working with Matt and I will definitely recommend him to anyone who ever needs help getting through this difficult situation.
