I had no idea of the impact that being arrested for a DUI charge would have on my life. Peak Legal Services was recommended to me from a friend in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous and thankfully I called and discussed the events of my DUI with Doug Cohen within a week of the arrest. He immediately w...ent to work on my case and we worked on mitigation. I had so many questions about what to do and trying to understand the legal process and making sure that I was fulfilling the requirements of my jail bond, pre-trial services, DMV circumstances, etc. Doug was a godsend and make my circumstances very clear to me and helped me understand all of the things that I needed to do, in order to remain in good standing with the courts and pre-trial services. Just understanding all of the moving parts was overwhelming, and Doug not only helped me understand everything that was going on, but also gave me constant guidance and direction of all of the work that I could do to help my case result in the best possible outcome. In my case, I had a very high BAC, was passed out in my car on the road. Due to the overwhelming evidence against my case, we decided that it would not be wise to try to fight the case, but rather to mitigate the case and attempt to seek a plea deal with the district attorney's office and if that didn't work, present a strong amount of evidence to the judge to show that since the arrest, that I was doing all of the "right things" to make up for my terrible mistake of drinking and driving. Under Doug's guidance, I took several actions that I would have not otherwise known to take that helped contribute to the positive outcome of my case, such as; attending a MADD victim impact panel, completing level 2 education/therapy courses, getting letters of character reference from friends, family, and coworkers, completing community service ahead of time (which the judge counted towards sentencing), and much more. Additionally, we were able to get continuations of the court date, that allowed me to complete treatment for substance abuse and allowed me the necessary time to complete all of the mitigating actions mentioned above, while working a full time job. The result of my case was a positive one. Considering my high BAC, I was very satisfied with the overall sentencing and feel like I had the best outcome possible with the circumstances surrounding my case. Without Doug and his team at Peak Legal Services, I don't know what I would have done and I am incredibly grateful for Doug and his team, and would highly recommend them to anyone who has to go through something similar.

I contacted many different lawyers in the Denver area and outside counties as my case was in Grand. Doug was the best choice and I'm very happy that I hired him as my attorney. I can highly recommend Doug Cohen at Peak Legal Services. My son is a 3 times deployed combat veteran with PTSD and had an unfortunate triggering situation occur. I came to Doug after receiving my third DUI. While on pretrial for that dui I received a driving under restraint and a 4th dui. Doug not only stood by me but helped me to find a rehab facility to start my recovery. He got me out of the felony that comes with the forth and fought to get me into the... MOP program which is a treatment program instead of hard jail time. Doug did a fantastic job with on the legal side and has helped me personally with my addiction problems.
