I could not recommend Attorney Cohen more. After discussing my case with him, he immediately recognized that the way the police handled my traffic stop was suspect. After spending time doing discovery for my case, Attorney Cohen felt that we would have a good chance at me maintaining my drivers licen...se because of the mistakes made by the officers during my traffic stop. While DMV for DUI cases almost always end with loss of driving privileges, Attorney Cohen was able to successfully argue that I should maintain my driving privileges, and I was able to keep my driver's license without any disruption in my driving rights. Additionally, my two children were in the vehicle with me when I was pulled over for which I was charged with child endangerment. Mr. Cohen was able to get both of those charges dropped during negotiations with the District Attorney's office while also securing a one year deferred sentence for my offense. This means that, as long as I fulfill the requirements of my probation, the charge/conviction will be removed from my record. I was referred to Doug in July 2022 due to a DUI charge in Cheyenne, WY (Laramie County). Never having any previous charges in my life, and therefore not really knowing the best course of action, I pled guilty to the DUI in my initial hearing. I contacted multiple attorneys in my home town, none of w...hom returned my calls once they learned I pled guilty. So I was in a panic as I had no idea how to navigate the "system" I was dealing with (WY DOT, my mandated ETG tests, my court ordered Substance Abuse Evaluation, etc.). I was finally referred to Doug, and after the experience I had with the previous attorneys, I wasn't expecting much. I told him at the beginning of the call that I had pled guilty, and not only did he spend 30 minutes advising me on that initial call, he advised me that he didn't want to take any money because as I had pled guilty he wasn't sure what he could do! Over the course of the next three weeks, we traded emails (which he always promptly responded to) where he advised me on matters such as: 1) Since it was my first offense, he informed me of WY Statute 7-13-301 The Deferred Conviction First Offender Statute that allows the court to place the defendant on probation, and if/when those probationary requirements are met, the initial charge is dismissed. I made this request and it was granted! I wouldn't have even known to request this were it not for Doug. This likely saved my career as otherwise, I would have had a DUI conviction on my record for 10 years. 2) He suggested I write a letter to the presiding judge, as well as the DA, in advance of my sentencing hearing letting them know it was first offense and why I think I qualified for the Deferred Conviction, which I did. 3) he navigated me through dealing with the Wyoming Dept of Transportation to make the request for a Probationary License, which was granted. This also helped me avoid damage to my career as it allows me to continue to drive to and from work every day. 4) He helped me prepare for my SAT/ASI Evaluation. As a result, I the recommendation I received was for the minimum 8 hour DUI class. During our email correspondence, I again offered to pay a retainer to secure his help, but again, as he felt there wasn't much he could do due to my guilty plea, he wouldn't take it. I can't tell you how impressive this still is to me, especially after my initial attempt to secure counsel. Not only does Doug and his firm come highly regarded by others in he legal profession (the attorney who referred me to Doug is tops in his field in Colorado), I can attest, based on my experience, that he is an honest, ethical person who clearly wants to help.

2019 I was arrested for internet luring of a child. I was involved in an internet sex sting and hired Douglas Cohen to represent me.
