Inadequate Investigation and Bias -Did not represent child's best interest, but mother's best interest

It's been sad to witness the court "expert" writing a report based on bias, mother's poor acting skills and hearsay rather evidence provided in the statement of fact (parenting app messages, emails, summarized by 2 attorneys who characterized it as extremely high conflict, yet Ms. Purchase character...ized it as "different style of communication", for example dismissing mother' s verbal threat "you do not want to make the enemy out of me". Third parties' testimonies were dismissed including PHD Psychologist who was a personal therapist of the mother for over 10 years, who addressed parental manipulation on mother's side. The report contained Ms. Purchase's personal judgement containing defamatory statements at the stepmother upon unverified allegations and without interviewing her. As CFI she completed only 1 CLE hour on Alienation, fundamentally inadequate to review high conflict dynamics and manipulation of children, overlooking patterns provided by the father's statement of fact. (F.e. father showed screenshots of the mother sharing co-parenting messages to his son that were negative of the father) that CFi referred to "father claims" in her report versus father demonstrated evidence of. While CFI completed 10-hour course on child abuse, the training obviously did not help her evaluate and recognize emotional manipulation and emotional abuse (involving children in high conflict adult matters, f.e. children repetitively using adult language used by the mother as demonstratedfather in the father's evidence) and coercive control that the father explicitly raised with documented evidence. The CFI recommendations dismissed recommendations of the teachers as well that supported father's side. The report failed to meet due diligence (didn't demonstrate a single evidence provided by the father's written summary of evidence) and relied inappropriately on mother's false accusations failing to analyze the possibility of the mother's pursuit for child support, and the children being used as instruments for parental manipulation. The CFI failed to recognize parallel parenting model necessity despite documented evidence of the high conflict from the mother's side, which is designed to shield vulnerable kids from parental conflict, thus undermined the primary goal of investigation, the best interest of the child, not the mother's financial gain.

As a Child and Family Investigator (CFI), I act as a third party neutral appointed by the Court to investigate and make recommendations regarding the best interests of the children. I understand that the process is very difficult for the parties, and it is not uncommon for one of the parties to feel disappointed or upset with my recommendation. Please know that I approach every case with compassion and care, striving to ensure that each child's well-being is at the heart of my work.

CFI was poorly done

Julia refused to read the “narrative” statement she asked both parties to complete - which provides the case history and impact on the child. Her report to the mediator/arbitrator misquoted court documents that were provided, had dates that were wrong, and omitted key facts supporting her “reasoning....” The CFI did nothing to resolve court involvement, or improve outcomes for the child involved. I have written evidence supporting all claims made in this review.

As a Child and Family Investigator (CFI), I act as a third party neutral appointed by the Court to investigate and make recommendations regarding the best interests of the children. In a CFI investigation it is, unfortunately, not uncommon for one of the two parties to be unhappy with my recommendation. However, I make every effort to serve the best interests of the children at issue.

Biased and unprofessional

Very biased! I wish I would’ve read other reviews before I hired Julia. I was told by my lawyer Julia favors a 50/50 schedule. She was also the more expensive option, over $3000. She only added one day to my every other weekend schedule. And all the lies my ex wife said to her, she took for truth, re...gardless of the police reports and text messages I provided. They weren’t even included in her final report. Very biased and very unprofessional, she hadn’t even opened the emails I sent to her til the follow up call just before the final report was due! Saddest part is my kids are the ones who suffer from her unprofessional behavior. Good luck to all you men out there fighting the good fight! Don’t give up!! And don’t go with Julia if you get the chance to pick your CFI like I did. $1675 in her pocket, while my kids go without their father.

DO NOT USE

Like other reviewers I wish I would have read her reviews before allowing her to be added to the list of CFI's that my lawyer's office suggested. Julia is a robot with no expression or thought given to the true well being of the child involved. I was told in court that she questioned my credibility a...s I had "too many" allegations against my son's father because I told the truth of a history of abuse, drug use and selling. It does not benefit to tell the truth about the other parent. I would have been much better off if I lied to her about what I was dealing with. She even asked him to pull his own police report about a domestic violence charge on his record rather than doing the research herself. When he claimed he couldn't get it she let him explain it away. We were able to obtain the report which spoke of him choking a woman unconscious. She also failed to speak to the girlfriend after me who also experienced domestic violence to the point that she was too afraid to speak in court. If you are a victim of domestic violence DO NOT USE this woman. You will be re-traumatized and be accused of making up allegations. Despite the fact that his father averaged giving away 1 day month out of his 8 she noted that he did not give away a significant amount of time and failed to mention that he has never scheduled/taken my son to one doctor, eye, or dental appointment. My child's father also had a babysitter we knew nothing about and that she never mentioned to me in her "investigation', despite the fact that child care was to be mutually agreed upon. Julia conducted two phone interviews for her "investigation" and took the word of my son's father's witnesses and left out information from my witnesses entirely in her report. My three year old will now be split between households 50/50 even though he has never been with his father that much in his life. She is a disgrace to her profession. DO NOT USE!

However, after practicing family law for almost 18 years and helping both men and women in various ways, I can assure you that I am in no way biased against either gender. I make every effort to serve the best interests of the children at issue.

I would not reccomend!

I would not recommend Julia, I felt the responsibility of her caring and putting her job duties and priorities into the case was simply absent. I am not sure if here personal issues at home played role of me feeling like she was absent from my case. I would not recommend her based off of her performa...nce, lack of understanding my case and the disregard to evidence. I am very disappointed with the service I received.
