Dawn consulted with me on my divorce. She was able to explain clearly some of legal implications of each decision I made. I was involved in a highly contentious divorce and custody battle that got very complicated. Dawn was an excellent guide through the complexities of the courts and the Colorado Family Law system. Dawn’s strategy included repairing some mistakes that I had made when I foolishly thought I could handle... the divorce without the assistance of an attorney. Dawn was able to help me regain some of the marital assets that I had given up by skillfully going through the details of my situation and proving that my ex had misrepresented certain details. My custody battle included undergoing a PRE and a DHS investigation as a result of false allegations against me. This was an unbelievably stressful time. Not only did Dawn support me in handling the emotions of this situation, she provided me with priceless advice on how to proceed through each step. Dawn worked seamlessly with my criminal defense attorney and aggressively defended me throughout the investigations. Her experience with these investigations helped turn destructive attacks into positive outcomes which ultimately helped the court rule in the kids’ and my best interests. Dawn was very good at making sure I was aware of the pros and cons of each option she presented me with. Dawn is very well versed in legal precedence and was very good at linking the specifics of my case to prior cases where the courts had previously ruled on situations like mine. It was very apparent that Dawn has taken the time to research case law and how to apply her knowledge to her clients’ situations. I believe Dawn to be an excellent strategist. On top of figuring out which case law would be most supportive of my situation, she also accounted for the strength and weaknesses of the opposing council and the judges on my case. She expertly used this knowledge to my benefit. We routinely discussed what our steps would be in response to possible opposing counsel actions or court rulings. Besides making sure I knew the risks and benefits each time I ran into a complication, Dawn was also very conscious of helping me to limit my costs. She was very good at letting me know what the approximate costs would be for each step so I could make a fully informed decision. I found this to be very valuable when I had to make a decision between my heart/emotions vs. financial risks/rewards. Dawn was very good at helping me stay grounded and make the choices that were in the best interests of my children and myself. Dawn was also very good at predicting what strategies the opposing counsel would pursue and we were able to prepare accordingly which also helped reign in the costs. All in all, Dawn was able to help me get almost everything I wanted to achieve. I could not be happier with the representation Dawn provided me with. She was vested in my case and helped me through a very painful situation. While I will likely need Dawn’s services in the future; I can take comfort in knowing that I have a true legal champion in my corner.
