Matthew Patton is a seasoned trial attorney who oversees one of Robinson & Henry’s Family Law Teams.
Matthew has been in private practice for more than a decade, serving as the primary attorney responsible for key decisions in complex family law litigation and criminal defense trials. Before joining R&H, he was the Director at a respected Castle Rock firm, where he managed a large caseload while mentoring associate attorneys and guiding clients through some of life’s most challenging transitions.
Matthew's background in public service shaped the foundation of his legal career. As a District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District, he prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases and participated in hundreds of trials and motions hearings. His earlier work as a Division Clerk for Douglas County Court and Deputy Sheriff of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office gave him unique insight into nearly every aspect of the legal system.
Every case presents a unique set of circumstances, and Matthew is dedicated to helping his clients achieve optimal outcomes in their complicated and sensitive legal matters. He accomplishes this through exceptional presentation and communication skills in pursuit of the best possible outcomes, whether through skilled negotiation, mediation, or aggressive representation in court.

Matt is a great lawyer
Matt was great about explaining everything and listened to everything I said. He was very transparent in his thoughts, and was a pleasure to work with.

Great Attorney!!
Our family hired Matt for a careless driving case involving our Son. Matt was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and caring. We felt very confident having Matt represent our Son and because of his abilities he won our case. We couldn't have done it without him!
"I have had the privilege of working as opposing counsel with Matt on many occasions throughout my career and I have always found him to be reasonable, professional and solutions-focused for his clients."
"Matt is an exceptional trial attorney whose knowledge in the courtroom has led to great victories in both criminal and civil matters. He fights for his clients without end. I highly recommend him."
"Mr. Patton is a smart, well rounded, charismatic trial attorney. While that can be said about many attorneys, what puts him over the top is his care and concern for the people he helps which is apparent both in and out of the courtroom. He is a great listener and outstanding advocate which aids him in being a strong ally and mentor."
"When Mr. Patton was the District Attorney handling matters in Douglas County, we found him to be a smart, energetic, and humorous adversary. We found that to be a great combination and decided we would rather have him on our team."
