I hired Paula to make changes to a court document. She told me that she could make the changes for a flat fee of $900. After almost three months and little communication, I received the new document. None of the changes that we agreed on had been made. I tried to call several times and I was always t...old that someone would call me back. I waited weeks without a callback. In the end she submitted the unchanged document to the court, without my signature or permission. She told me that there is nothing I can do about it. She told me to stop calling her and her staff. If I want any changes, then I will need to pay an additional $1,500. She also stated that, she would bill me extra for any phone calls to her or her staff to discuss the changes. Paula was recommended to me by a friend and I am now going to have to hire another attorney. I do not recommend her to anyone. I don’t know if she is just overwhelmed right now or if she always provides bad service, but her and her staff are completely incompetent.

No, no, and no! Upon meeting Paula Thomas in August of 2015 to hire her for my upcoming divorce everything seemed well. Her staff was friendly and so was she. My case was fairly easy me and my ex had agreed to everything from property to child support and custody of our daughter. The price was $2,800... for a contested divorce (my husband had a lawyer so it was considered contested) and that did not include the $300 for the first time consultation. I paid everything up front to her the very same day I decided to hire her. Everything went well and I was divorced in November 2015. But there was one little problem the final decree needed to be drafted and signed by the judge. Mrs. Paula Thomas and her staff let me know I would receive it no later than two weeks from my divorce being granted. Well I waited and waited until February, everytime I would call her office her staff would tell me they were busy and had not had the time to complete it, very unprofessional. This happened like 8 times from November all the way to April. Until I went into her office upset and then tada it was done the next day! And she charged me $900 to do it when it should have been included! Complete bull. I thought it was the end of my divorce journey when my ex husband let me know that the part of the pension I was awarded was on hold because my lawyer had not corrected and submitted the paper work.... What!!! I have been divorced for a year now and here I was thinking that this was the normal process and wait time. So I called her office and her assistant Tammy tells me that indeed they have had the paperwork and that she has been needing to add one sentence but hasn't had the time! OMG I was so upset and completely appalled. The next day she apparently had the time to get that sentence in and we all signed it that was in August. What I don't know was that the judge still had to sign it. Well it's now mid October and according to her office they have tried 3 times. Three times from August to October, really??? So I opted to email Paula herself to let her know that I was very upset. She did not even apologize and basically told me she would get it done when she had time! I let her know I was disappointed with her staff and her services and that I believed her sense of urgency was way off considering I had been divorced for a year! The next day mind you a Friday my order was signed by the judge!

At first, she seems very caring; empathic. But she doesn't do a thing; makes everything seems like it's so huge to tackle. Asked me for documents and had me running around bringing her papers and didn't do anything with them. She was just buying time. I have a relative who works for the IRS who t...old me just about everything I needed to know about my divorce in one sitting. Paula was going to spoon feed me the exact information after spending hundreds of dollars and time on her. She is not direct and to the point. Issues that could have been settled efficiently and promptly were just left on the back burner for me to investigate and find out on my own. Please do yourself a huge FAVOR and DON'T HIRE THIS LAWYER! Save yourself time and money. Get someone competent and hardworking. Find someone who will work on your case in a reasonable manner and amount of time and not drag it on forever just to milk more money out of you. Paula's staff was constantly changing; seems like she can't keep people working for her....personnel turnover in her office is terrible! Every few months, there was a totally new staff on the payroll. Unbelievable. Incompetent lawyer; I left frustrated...just about ran out the door. Heed my warning, please!
