Mr. Blizzard's practice is focused on criminal defense and criminal appeals in Abilene, TX, and serves clients across the state of Texas in both state and federal courts. Criminal defense includes pre-trial negotiations for plea bargains and trials of felonies and misdemeanor cases. Jacob is board certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has a significant practice in criminal appeals and post-conviction writs of habeas corpus. Mr. Blizzard also practices personal injury and plaintiff's side litigation.
Mr. Blizzard also has authored numerous criminal appeal briefs in Texas state and federal courts of appeals. This practice has included direct appeal following a conviction, petition for discretionary review to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, 11.07 post-conviction writs of habeas corpus under Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, and federal writs of habeas corpus. Mr. Blizzard has also argued his cases in oral argument before the Courts of Appeals in both state and federal courts.

Within the Texas legal community, board certification means an attorney has substantial, relevant experience in a select field of law, as well as demonstrated and tested special competence in that area of law. He is a Texas Tech University School of Law graduate and is the managing partner of Blizzard and Zimmerman Attorneys.
