Biography
Kayla Staley is a criminal defense attorney in West Texas known for her zealous advocacy and dedication to justice. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2019 with honors, earning a degree in philosophy and a minor in Spanish. Kayla continued her academic journey at Texas Tech School of Law, where she graduated in 2022. During her time in law school, she demonstrated her talents in advocacy by being named a national champion advocate twice and securing the title of Second Best Advocate in the Nation in 2022. She was also named a state champion in 2021.
Kayla is the Associate Attorney at King Law, where she has quickly established herself as a formidable defense attorney. She handles all cases, ranging from class C misdemeanors to first-degree felonies, showcasing her versatility and comprehensive understanding of criminal law. In recognition of her contributions to indigent defense in West Texas, she was honored with the Star Attorney in Rising Award by the Lubbock Private Defender's Office in 2023.
Before she began practicing criminal defense, Kayla was a felony prosecutor in the 106th Judicial District Attorney's Office. There, she prepared various felony cases for trial, negotiated plea agreements with opposing counsel, and learned how to effectively communicate in the courtroom. After almost a year there, she decided she wanted to work for people rather than against them. Now, she gets to zealously represent people accused of criminal wrongdoing and fight for them every step of the way through their case.

Couldn’t have asked for a better attorney!
