Jill S. Gately

Roughly 2 years ago, I was unjustly accused of a criminal action resulting in a charge deemed a felony. While this charge was quickly dropped under the nolle prosequi declaration, a misdemeanor remained on my record that required court appearance. I cannot say enough how grateful I was to be referr...ed to Attorney Gately. She is a brilliant, articulate, and supremely prepared attorney. While the felony charge was dropped under the nolle prosequi, Attorney Gately prepared my case addressing the misdemeanor as though the court appearance were for the higher charge, not a misdemeanor. Attorney Gately is an extremely thorough and gifted defense attorney without whom my journey would have undoubtedly been far different. The presiding judge took the matter under advisement and my misdemeanor dismissed. I could not have greater respect or higher praise for any professional. Her skill, persuasive argument and tenacity changed my future completely. I hold her in the highest regard in terms of her knowledge of the law - including constitutional matters - as well as her impeccable ethical standards.

I was pulled over late one night on Route 3 driving home from school and I was cited for speeding. I was in the fast lane and had thought there was a drunk driver behind me so I sped up to avoid an accident. When the traffic to the right of me cleared, I moved over and the person whom I thought was a... drunk driver, ended up being a cop that sped past me. I then immediately saw blue lights behind me. I was basically tag teamed by two officers and the officer that pulled me over wrote incorrect statements on the citation. He claimed he had followed me for 2 miles, but he was never behind me until I moved over (the other cop was behind me and never turned on his lights). And he claimed I was going 75-80mph in a 55mph but cited me for 60mph. This was my first offense so I wasn't sure about how to handle this kind of situation and how to go about fighting the ticket. I immediately got in touch with Jill, who has been a personal friend for many years now. Without hesitation, Jill jumped on the case immediately. She listened to everything I had to say and told me exactly what I needed to do. The day of the court case, Jill facilitated the whole process and won the case with ease due to her natural ability to inform and persuade.
