Robert D. Ettinger

Robert was referred to me by my sister, but despite the bad reviews I read about him I gave it a try. I should've passed on this man as my representation. I sent him email after email of information involving my case...not once did he respond or assure me whether things were in our favor or not. I em...ailed Robert at least 3 weeks before my hearing asking him when would he like to meet. He did not respond until the last week before the hearing. This was the weekend of my daughter's birthday which happened to be on the day of my hearing....It was also the weekend of Father's Day. I suggested we meet Saturday/Sunday morning because I had no time from work and had plans for my daughter in the afternoon. Robert demanded Saturday afternoon because he had Father's day plans. Because we could not come to an agreement he withdrew from my case. He may be knowledgeable and aggressive in the courtroom, but his client relations could use some serious conditioning.

I was a client, what should have been easy as I provided all discovery- wasn't! if he reviewed it, he wouldn't have had to ask the same questions in the documents. Ate up my retainer by not responding, or making comments for me not to worry. Was rude and loud. Didn't finish the job as he had no id...ea where to look for documents nor called company for pension or correct asset forms. Didn't finish didn't give me back correct amount for my retainer. Don't waste your money or energy- or be prepared to do your own follow up, and waste ALOT of your time and money

If you are looking for a professional, responsive attorney, Ettinger is NOT the one to choose. He will not respond to requests, phone calls or emails. He does not submit required documents on a timely basis. You will end up changing attorneys, just like I did. What a waste of $3000, just to start, a...gain! Buyer beware!

I worked with Robert for about a year. He handled my divorce, but made fatal errors on division of property. It's been 3 years since my divorce and since language was not included on a money judgement..,, I'm still without around $10,000.00 On motions to enforce he filed for me, he failed to meet ...deadlines, would not return phone calls in a timely manner, and just added more and more anxiety and stress to everything he filed for me. I fired him. He is knowledgable, but very careless, on my opinion, about the important details of cases. He misrepresented me on a rule 11 agreement having to do with my children and visitation. He failed to put the specific language that we had agreed on. Because of his carelessness, I spent another 10-15,000 with another attorney trying to fix his mess.....
