John Lounsbury Wise

It's surprising that one of his publications from 2016 references the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association's "Expunctions and Nondisclosures of Deferred Adjudication," because my life is all but destroyed nearly a decade after the court appointed Mr. Wise to handle my case. Allegedly, I made a ...statement to a gas station attendant that I would shoot him if he didn't sell me alcohol. At 22 years old, severely depressed, and acting under the counsel of John Wise, I pled guilty to committing a terrorist threat. The state didn't have any hard evidence that I ever made any threats to anyone; it was just my word against the attendant's. Of course, at the time, I was very depressed, dealing with very complex mental health issues, and very uneducated—I didn't understand any of this. Ultimately, I followed John Wise's advice, and it destroyed my life. I think it's very unlikely the judge would have found me guilty of a terrorist threat and imposed a conviction and jail time had we gone to trial, considering I was a first-time offender.

John is an excellent lawyer. This is my second time hiring him and in both instances, his level of commitment to a legal case is superior.
