The case was dismissed. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. The abuse that contributed to the escalation of this incident blow out stopped like a curse through this incident, but I had to defend myself since I drew blood. I will never be threatened again in that manner in my home or need to grab... anyone in that state (of mind) again. Mr. Blackburn made sure my right was protected. He handled affairs with my 2 yr-old while I was in jail and helped so that she was ok. He also helped me, so I just didn’t lose my mind scared for my baby. Let me tell you how BlackBurn Betts did some of this. I was able to get in touch with them during booking at midnight. Whenever they locked me away from a phone in a room without any access or phone call, they came as a visitor so that they could get the process of me getting out faster before the weekend took over. Unfortunately, my estranged father got involved, and was petitioning to leave me there for ill interest and influence of my stepmom old enough to be my sister. They were on top of that and had my back while my intense crying & rattling stories made me look batty. (not cool, even if I had just cause to be that upset.) You need to understand if it gets so bad that the state is called, it tips off a process, and they do need to make sure any children involved are ok. Highly recommend Mr. Blackburn to get you through dealing with it & navigate an underfunded system. After getting through it, now the abuse escalating the situation has stopped, and we are ready & prepared to do what is best for our child if it ever goes in that direction again. I am a little annoyed that the system cost so much to participate in without tyranny just making it worse. I do feel Blackburn Betts was worth my money.
