I highly endorse Marlene since she handled my divorce last year. If you’re looking for a high-priced lawyer with a big staff and fancy office, she’s not for you. However, if you’re looking for someone humble, caring, and compassionate yet realistic and honest (she’ll be straight with you and tell y...ou when and why something isn’t worth your/her time (her time = your money)), someone who sees the big picture (she considers the present and the future, and as an atty and CPA, she factors in legal, financial, and tax implications), and someone who communicates with you quickly and often and is reasonably priced, then Marlene is right for you. I keep in touch with Marlene and consider her a friend, and I believe that may be the strongest endorsement a client can have for an attorney.

Marelene represented me very well. She handled my divorce case and kept me from loosing my home which I was going to just give up. She sincerely cared and acted in my best interest, and also helped me to get other benefits for my disability. Overall I think she did a very good job and I would reco...mmend her. She is a very experienced lawyer in family law.

I hired her to handle my fraud case and wrongful termination case. Even not knowing what to expect, I could tell she was unorganized and not really interested in my case. When I was in her small office (that her sons were also operating a dubious credit check business out of), she would answer the ...phone and talk to other clients as if I weren't even there, discussing facts about their case, etc., right in front of me. Made me wonder if she was doing the same about my case.....discussing it with others. Come to find out, she was a friend of one of the defendants and had discussed my case with them. She also misrepresented my case to the DoJ and had not properly prepared or filed the Complaint, nor did she even prepare a Disclosure Statement. She said she had won a FCA case, it must have been by chance. Because she definitely did not prepare my case and also cost me my case because of it. What she presented to the DoJ was just some sort of chart and a brief sentence or two about me and the defendants. It was quite embarrassing. In my opinion, she is highly unethical and not fit to be representing clients.

As the former Telecommunications Manager for a major Texas City, I worked with Marlene for many months a few years ago. Marlene was very professional and took the time to educate me about law concerning the fraud perpetrated by corrupt city employees when they stole, misused, misappropriated, etc. u...p to $5.2 million year since about 1982. She reviewed reams of evidence- a page at a time- and put together a concise, well-planned case showing how corrupt City employees and officials conspired to illegally gain access to tens and probably hundreds of millions of dollars over the past decades. Through no fault on Marlene’s part I was unable to move forward with the lawsuit at this time. I still keep her name handy for all my family’s legal needs and refer friends/family to her regularly.

I too had Marlene represent me in a fraud case. In my opinion, she was very unprofessional and bordered on being highly unethical. I have since found out that what she presented to the U.S. Atty on my behalf, was very unprofessional and cost me the case by not properly explaining my case. She was ...still typing it minutes before leaving to meet with the US Atty. During the meeting with the US Atty, Marlene spoke more about how much money she had than presenting my case. She also intentionally misrepresented some facts to the US Atty, which was very obvious. I then had to go back and clear it up. She was very disappointing and cost me my case. I DO NOT recommend her for any type of case.
