Don't fall for the sales pitch..

A very expensive headache. And I'm not talking about court. I've never been so happy to conclude business with someone!

Your case has been closed since December 2021 and you were happy with the results in December. You thanked me for my hard work and helping you keep custody of your child. I understand that you were unhappy with your payment plan, but I could only assist you so much with your billing. I placed you on a $50 per month payment plan as a courtesy. You missed payments. I placed you back on the payment plan even after you missed payments and told you to just let me know when you would be late on a payment so I could put a note on your account to prevent it from going to an outside collections agency. I told you from the start of the payment plan that if your account went to an outside collections agency that I wouldn’t be able to assist you with your billing. You stopped making payments again and didn’t give me any notice that you would be late. When I spoke with you about your payment you said you would make a payment in a few days. I waited almost a month after that conversation before your account went to outside collections.

Agreed! - just don't

7-10 day wait to get a phone call or email, maybe, then cancels the phone appointment you waited for, only to do more waiting and hoping as you try again. You have to beg her to pay attention to your case. Months of waiting and hoping she will take the next step or take the time to talk to you - th...en you get 10 minutes, maybe 15 at best (3 times over more than 7 months), then she has little to say about anything including the process. We went with her because of the claims on her website. Experience shows otherwise.

All clients are able to schedule a phone appointment by calling the office or through my online calendar. At the time, I had phone appointments available every Tuesday and Thursday. You chose not to use this option for some reason. As for the phone appointment you are referring to, I answered your question in response to the email you sent me and asked if you still needed the phone appointment and you told me you didn’t need it anymore since I answered your question in my email. The 7-10 days is a guideline. Many times emails and calls are responded to within 2 days, but if I’m in court it takes longer to respond. You also sent me emails telling me you appreciated the hard work I was doing on your case. So I’m surprised at your review. You didn’t have any issues until it came time for you to make a payment and then you told me you wanted to change attorneys.

Poor communication

Very poor communication. You have to send multiple emails and call just to receive a reply. Her answering service will always tell you to wait 7-10 business days, but when you do every single time they will claim to have never received your email. Ms. Comb's would be confused on when she even comm...unicated with me. My divorce took over a year to finalize, I would receive more information from my ex and opposing counsel than Ms. Combs.

We did have an issue with our email not receiving all emails between November and December 2021, and that’s why we changed email accounts. I did apologize to you for the incident with the email account. However, all clients are able to schedule a phone appointment by calling the office or through my online calendar. At the time, we had phone appointments available every Tuesday and Thursday so if it was something that needed to be addressed quickly you could have scheduled a phone appointment. Other clients didn’t have issues since they scheduled phone appointments to address their issues. For whatever reason you chose not to use this option, but it was available to you.

Don’t just don’t

Unless you like the pain…not including the divorce itself. You will not be heard or the majority of what you send isn’t in your file. Despondent and terrible bed side manner. It’s as if she’s doing you a favor while having a hand out.

Since you have posted anonymously, I don’t recognize your case so I can not respond to your issues.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
