When I moved to a new city, I was unable to view the new apartment in person before I signed the lease (COVID). I did a video tour of the place, and it looked fine, at most like the current tenants just weren't keeping up with maintenance requests. It was clear after I spent a day there that there we...re far, far bigger problems. After documenting multiple health code violations, including dead mice, several holes through exterior walls, and a rampant mold problem, I contacted Mr. Marley for help on the recommendation of a friend. Mr. Marley was exactly what I needed. I was worried that I was overreacting, but Mr. Marley took one look through the pictures I provided and was convinced not only that the property was not in the condition the video tour implied it would be, but that the place was not legally habitable. He assured me I would get out of the lease with his help. The landlord initially agreed to let me out of the lease, but several hours later decided he was going to enforce the lease after all. Mr. Marley took over at that point, calling the landlord. Within an hour the landlord sent me a signed agreement nullifying the lease and agreeing to charge me only for the days I was in possession of the property. This was a very stressful time in my life, and it would have been so much more difficult without Mr. Marley.
