During his time at St. Mary’s, Tapas actively participated in a series of negotiation competitions, honing his skills under the guidance of Allen T. Craddock, a prominent behavioral consultant specializing in law enforcement agencies’ crisis negotiation intervention, behavioral interpretation, and interrogation techniques. His involvement further enriched his understanding of legal nuances.

In the sphere of practical experience, Tapas served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Edward C. Prado of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit during law school. Tapas also demonstrated his acumen as a research assistant for Professors Colin Marks and Angela Walch.

Presently, Tapas contributes to legal education as an adjunct professor at St. Mary’s Law, where he imparts knowledge on Business Torts.
