In March of 2018 our home was invaded by Bexar PD, due to a neighbor's calling the police go say we were sacrificing animals and had all kind of illegal activity going on.This was incorrect. We are Santeros and we were practicing our religion. We were a total of 11 people arrested due to the lack of ...ignorance about religious freedom. Luckly God and our saints put Daniel in our path. My son was pulled over in Boerne in the early morning hours, originally for speeding. The officer that pulled him over then asked if he could search my son's car. Not having anything to hide, my son agreed. During the search, he found a piece of paper which he considered to be 'paraphernalia'. M...y son offered to take a drug test on the spot, but the officer refused. On the citation, he was given a warning for speeding, but cited specifically for having 'paraphernalia'. No analysis of the paper was ever conducted to determine if any illegal substances were used. Consequently, my son was looking at a drug-related charge. I hired Mr. De La Garza to represent my son for the case. Prior to the court date, Mr. De La Garza spoke with the prosecutor to attempt to get the charge dropped. The prosecutor, without even looking at the case, only offered a 'deal' that would have had consequences on my son's record. The prosecutor also mentioned he wouldn’t look at the case until the morning of the court date. We had no other choice but to show up to court at the appointed time. Mr. De La Garza asked the court to see the evidence and the police report narrative. The court could only produce a picture, without any police narrative. Without having enough evidence to continue, Mr. De La Garza asked for a dismissal of the case, which was subsequently granted. If the court had not granted the dismissal, Mr. De La Garza had the legal research to continue the argument for dismissal Thankfully, it did not have to go that far. I am satisfied with the representation he provided, and would definitely recommend Mr. De La Garza for representation.
