My name is HECTOR Q. MARTINEZ; I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio, with a Humanities Degree in 1995, and soon went on to receive a law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas in 2001. While in law school at St. Mary’s Hector was a member of the Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Minority Issues, and served as a teaching assistant for mediation, negotiation, and a law in philosophy course, as well as being a member of the Hispanic Law Student Association.
Currently, Hector focuses his time and knowledge to represent individuals faced with probate, property inheritance, or personal injury cases, as well as helping individuals gain peace of mind when they are making decisions related to the future, such as what is the next step in dealing with the assets, home, or insurance of a recently passed loved one, what information does one need to prepare a Will, and how does a person designate the individual who will be there to help deal with their financial affairs or when immediate medical attention is needed, if one is incapacitated.
Since 2001 Hector has also taught negotiation as an adjunct professor at St. Mary's University School of Law, in the Alternative Dispute Resolution section headed by L. Wayne Scott. To expand his knowledge of negotiation, Hector attended the Harvard Law School, Program of Instruction for Lawyers Negotiation Workshop in 2003.
In addition, Hector has been a mediator during the San Antonio Bar Association's "Settlement Week” as well as helping out at the St. Mary’s Wills Clinic. These programs provide help with legal issue for residents of San Antonio and Bexar County who otherwise might not get legal advice.
