Excellent criminal defense attorney!

My son needed a criminal defense attorney. We had already hired an attorney and had been to the courthouse a couple of times with the other attorney, and this attorney was advising us that the "deal" the DA would be offering, would probably be the best we could hope for. This other attorney did not... read or review my son's file, and he did not remember anything the second time at the courthouse that we discussed the first time we had been there. A friend of my son's had hired Kurt and had a very good outcome with his case, and had recommended that we go talk to him. I am so glad we took that advice. We made an appointment and went to his office, and we discussed the facts of my son's case. He asked a lot of questions, and took notes (which the other attorney did not). We got a very good "feel" about him after this first consultation and hired him to replace the original attorney. When we went to court, Kurt must have spent at least an hour in the courtroom reading and reviewing the entire file. He then took us in a consultation room and explained to us in detail the case, and how he felt that we should proceed. He did not advise us to take the deal, he wanted to get additional information. He didn't go for the "quick fix" (the deal). We felt that he listened to our concerns and was totally engaged in our case. We had a very positive outcome, my son's case was dismissed. I felt his responsiveness was excellent. If I had a concern, I would email or text him, and he would respond promptly. I also felt him to be extremely forthcoming and knowledgeable. I would describe him as "driven" and not just there to collect your money. He seems to enjoy his work and I highly recommend him for any criminal defense.

Kurt helped me at my lowest point in life; he fought for me, my freedom, & the best outcome imaginable! Highly recommended!!

For all of you looking at Kurt's reviews right now using them to determine who you should choose to defend/represent you in court---- look no further! Choosing an attorney is never easy, especially when you are at a low point in all areas of your life- mentally, financially, physically; the process c...an be exhausting. When I was arrested in March 2013 I was facing three felonies along with a misdemeanor and the charges were split between two counties [Harris and Montgomery]. As a mother of three young children I was afraid I'd lose everything or go to jai or have to file for bankruptcy or all of the above; I spent weeks calling around for an attorney that was the best of the best yet didn't break the bank. Kurt offered me a deal I couldn't pass up; along with a free face-to-face consultation, he provided reasonable monthly payments that were affordable for myself and my family. He worked diligently to get me the best deal I could imagine in my situation; in the end it ended up being even better than I hoped. He made sure I understood everything that was going on; never pushed anything on me or past me [as I was afraid an attorney would because I didn't understand all the legal mumbo-jumbo]. I owe my freedom to Kurt Hopke and all the hard work he put into my cases. When it was all said and done I ended up getting the misdemeanor dropped, one of the felonies dropped, no fees in Harris county, deferred adjudication, 100 hours of community service, and only 3 years probation [with the potential to be terminated halfway through for "good behavior"]. That means that I can get the charges expunged from my record 5 years after successful completion of probation. If you only knew how bad it was looking for me before I chose Kurt Hopke as my representation, you wouldn't search any further than him. Even if you are on your second, third, fourth, tenth charge, choose Kurt... he will make sure you get the best possible! Thank you Kurt, you've been a blessing in my life, my husband's life, and the lives of my children!

"If there is one word I can use to describe Kurt, it would be "fighter". Kurt works extremely hard for his clients, appointed or retained. He doesn't give in to the prosecutor's BS and he's not afraid to go to trial. We tried a DWI case together in Fort Bend county about a year ago. Stakes were high - client's felony probation would get revoked and he would go to prison if we lost. Fortunately for the client, he had Kurt as a lawyer and we were able to secure the "Not Guilty!" and give the client his life back. I endorse this lawyer."
