Second Probation Violation w/ MTAG

I retained Jeff to represent me in a criminal case and it was the best thing I could of done. He's extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything about my case and all of the possible outcomes. If ever I had a question or concern, He or Darla (who is incredible herself) always had th...e time to address them. The outcome to my case was better than I could of ever expected thanks to Jeff's expertise and solid advice. I would encourage anyone who needs excellent representation for a criminal charge to contact and speak with Jeff. If I ever need anyone to represent me in the future it will definitely be Mr. Gilbert.

It was an honor to represent you on what was a serious accusation. You trusted me, my firm, and the process resulting in a No Bill by the grand jury. Case dismissed! We are glad that you are back and able to work to support yourself and be the productive member of society that you are. JRG

Excellent Attorney

We Believe! That is in the Law Offices of Jeff Gilbert. In this family’s opinion, we are convinced that we could not have landed up with a better law firm to represent us in our case. The firm knows the law, the legal system in place in Brazoria and the surrounding counties. They schedule an init...ial interview and do an in depth discussion on your issues explaining exactly where you stand, what you can expect and the best way to proceed from this point in time. They explain the do’s and don’ts and the ramifications of each action. There were no false promises. Very importantly, they know how and when to proceed on your issue. The law firm staff was always courteous, pleasant and easy to work with. They are very good at assisting you with your input to the case information needed which made it a whole lot easier. They were always glad to hear from you when you wanted to know how things were proceeding or needed some advice. We were so fortunate to have found this law firm. We feel we could not have been represented any better and were very pleased with the outcome. When it comes to law firms, you hear this and that but when it comes right down to it, you have to decide who is best for you. It could very well be in your best interest to at least come in for an initial interview. There was no pressure to choose them but we are thankful we did. Best of luck to you that need help.

It was a pleasure representing you. Thank you so much for the kind words. My staff works together on behalf of all of our clients and this case offered particular challenges. You and we met them head on. Thank you for trusting us in our plan and strategy. You have been facing extraordinary challenges personally along the way. Thank you for staying strong. We continue to pray for you and your family. JRG

NO RESULTS, OVERPAYING AS A DISABLED VETERAN

I went in & paid a $1,500 retainer for a Modification for Child Support after the Attorney General's (AG) Office overcalculated my income. During the initial consultation, I was referred to Rachael by Nikki as "Rachael handles our child support cases & is really good." During the consultation, I ...provided my findings, income verification, & other essential information to present to the court on why the Attorney General's (AG) calculations were inaccurate. As a result, Rachael appeared to be impressed with the work I had even mentioned "your gonna make my job easy." On the first day of hearing, Rachael approached me asking if I had the information I showed her during the initial consultation. After not coming with the information herself or prompting me to bring in myself, she was COMPLETELY UNPREPARED! The second hearing was placed on hold! While Rachael was trying to sort out other disclosure issues, during the first call for dockett she automatically placed the case on HOLD; without my coscent, guidance, approval, or recommendations that is! After a $1,500 cost, the firm is now asking for nearly $1,500 retainer fee for additional costs. As a low income & now unemployed parent/veteran I find it very disappointing that I entrusted a firm to not receive NOT 1 RESULT or CHANGE IN MY CASE! ENDSTATE=$1,500 COST, NOT PREPARED, HEARING PLACED ON HOLD W/OUT MY CONSENT, NO LIFT ON DISCLOSURE, & I AM STILL GONNA HAVE TO PAY MORE THAN I SHOULD FOR CHILD SUPPORT ($600+ FOR 1 CHILD) ALTHOUGH I AM UNEMPLOYED. Should you seek RESULTS FOR YOUR PAY, GO ELSEWHERE! If you want INCOMING INVOICES & NO RESULTS, go to the Jeff Gilbert Law Firm, Angleton, Texas.

Thank you for your comments. I can appreciate your concerns and certainly will work to address them with you and to explain the billing and progress on this case. You hired us after an erroneous ruling was made in a hearing (where you represented yourself) by the Title IV Child Support Court Judge in March of this year. At the first de novo setting YOU failed to bring required documentation with you, requiring the matter to be reset. Despite preparing for the hearing and going to court on your behalf you were billed a grand total of 30 minutes by my firm. Prior to the next setting you lost your job. At the next setting, the case was not going to be reached by the Court so the parties agreed to attempt a settlement by negotiations. Rachel and you sat down in good faith with the mother of your son and an available representative of the Attorney General's office to try to reach an agreement. One could not be reached and the parties broke negotiations at noon. [Despite Ms. Aguilar appearing for Court and an anticipated hearing at 9:00 a.m. and leaving at noon, you were only billed only 2 hours of attorney time and no time for her preparation prior to court that morning.] RESULTS: Negotiations continued, in earnest, on your behalf during which time we presented to you an offer wherein the Obligee Parent (Mom) agreed to (1) provide medical support herself (negating your obligation to do so) (2) reduce your monthly child support obligation, and (3) agreed to a pick-up/drop-off point for you to exercise visitation. An agreement would have resulted in a net savings by you of over $240/month and allowed you to exercise visitation with your son. YOU REJECTED this offer in late May and the matter is reset for another hearing in late July. Since that time, you have failed to pay this firm for all work performed and likewise failed to advance the necessary professional retainer required to proceed to the contested hearing you desire. We certainly do not recommend anyone accepting an offer with which they are uncomfortable. In a hearing the child support determination will be based upon calculations made based upon the evidence of income, employability and current income assuming the obligor is not intentionally under-employed. The court will also make an order for the obligor to provide medical support. We have since received notice from the Attorney General's Office that you are once again employed. Congratulations. If you would like to actually contact my firm to discuss this matter, I am happy to speak with you. It appears that the genesis of this post, as is the nature of child support matters, is money owed. I appreciate your concern. Attorneys and firms like mine work hard on behalf of their clients and strive for the best results. Again, I have always been and remain willing to address your concerns. Perhaps you would give me the honor of a call, or rather come meet with me [no further charge for our discussion] rather than a post not based on actual facts, but rather emotion.

Mr. Gilbert was my divorce attorney.

Mr. Gilbert was my attorney 5 years ago. He is very professional & straight forward with his client. He is able to inform you of what you are up against & what it will all entail. His fees are very reasonable for the type of law he would have to use, either criminal or with family law. I would recomm...end him to anyone who is in need of a good lawyer either for criminal or family.
