I retained Jeff to represent me in a criminal case and it was the best thing I could of done. He's extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything about my case and all of the possible outcomes. If ever I had a question or concern, He or Darla (who is incredible herself) always had th...e time to address them. Jeff did an average job representing me in a criminal case where I felt that I was in good hands. I went in & paid a $1,500 retainer for a Modification for Child Support after the Attorney General's (AG) Office overcalculated my income. During the initial consultation, I was referred to Rachael by Nikki as "Rachael handles our child support cases & is really good." During the consultation, I ...provided my findings, income verification, & other essential information to present to the court on why the Attorney General's (AG) calculations were inaccurate. As a result, Rachael appeared to be impressed with the work I had even mentioned "your gonna make my job easy." On the first day of hearing, Rachael approached me asking if I had the information I showed her during the initial consultation. After not coming with the information herself or prompting me to bring in myself, she was COMPLETELY UNPREPARED! The second hearing was placed on hold! While Rachael was trying to sort out other disclosure issues, during the first call for dockett she automatically placed the case on HOLD; without my coscent, guidance, approval, or recommendations that is! After a $1,500 cost, the firm is now asking for nearly $1,500 retainer fee for additional costs. As a low income & now unemployed parent/veteran I find it very disappointing that I entrusted a firm to not receive NOT 1 RESULT or CHANGE IN MY CASE! ENDSTATE=$1,500 COST, NOT PREPARED, HEARING PLACED ON HOLD W/OUT MY CONSENT, NO LIFT ON DISCLOSURE, & I AM STILL GONNA HAVE TO PAY MORE THAN I SHOULD FOR CHILD SUPPORT ($600+ FOR 1 CHILD) ALTHOUGH I AM UNEMPLOYED. Mr. Gilbert was my attorney 5 years ago. He is very professional & straight forward with his client. He is able to inform you of what you are up against & what it will all entail. His fees are very reasonable for the type of law he would have to use, either criminal or with family law.
