Biography
I've been practicing law for 30+ years throughout the State of Texas. I am experienced, diligent, tenacious and have a strong "justice bone" in fighting for my clients. I have received the highest rating by Martindale Hubbell and am listed in the guide as a Preeminent Attorney in my areas of practice. This rating is based upon surverys from lawyers and judges with whom I regularly work. I practice primarily Family Law and Criminal Defense. I have been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer by Thompson Reuters for seven consecutive years (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 2023) I am dedicated to representing my clients during tough times including divorce, child custody and when they are charged with crimes whether felony or misdemeanor. Our five person team including attorney, Suzanna Johnson, who is licensed both in Florida and Texas are adept in assisting our clients in what is clearly a very stressful time.
After serving as an assistant district attorney in Houston (Harris County) I was honored to be selected as a Special Judge in the County Criminal Courts at Law. I've tried scores of felony and misdemeanor cases to a jury verdict. Experience Matters. I am also honored to serve as Presiding Municipal Judge for the City of Angleton. Integrity Matters.

Replied last August 27, 2018"Richard" - thank you for leaving a comment. As I have not represented someone with this name in a number of years I am having trouble responding to this comment. As you know, any agreement or result leading to reduction of an actual higher charge required YOUR agreement. I will never and would never allow a client to plead guilty without their consent. We work hard to get the best possible outcomes for all clients. The outcomes are often case specific and based on the allegations and the facts. No evidence was "entered improperly" and "thrown out" in an agreement that results in the reduction of an offense. Please feel free to call me and discuss your concerns. 979-549-0700. Best regards.
