3 felonies and a Misdemeanor A later. 6-8 months probation with probable expungement once finished.

2 2nd degree felonies. 1 state jail felony. 1 Misdemeanor A. This attorney ventured every possible way for me to defend myself from the crimes I was charged with. Didn’t glance over any details regarding my case. He kept me in the loop as far as potential outcomes and what I could do to affect them. ...But he did not make false promises. He will anlways be straightforward with his client. And he was always one phone call away. Long story short 3 of my charges was dismissed and now I’m in a program for my final charge to be expunged in 6-8 moths. Couldn’t ask for a better lawyer and a better outcome

They say "It's not what you know but who you know"

And in the Fort Bend criminal defense arena there is not a single person I would want to know more than Mr. McDonald. He is professional, honest and fair. He did not sugar coat the possible outcome I was facing nor did he give me false hope in what he could or could not do. He did let me know I was n...ot going to go through this process alone and that he would do his absolute best to get the best outcome for me. Simply because did not over promise nor try and tell me what I wanted to hear, my family and I hired him, and it was the best decision I made. After hiring Mr. McDonald, with less than a week until my initial court appearance, he had my court reset and told me to come see him that week to discuss the case. I went in and gave my recount of the events which lead me to his door. I do not know what happened after that meeting but it was coming up on 5 pm the following day and I looked at the Fort Bend Court records and noticed a new file. I opened the file and it was a letter of rejection of my case submitted to the court by the Assistant DA of Fort Bend County. I was texting with Shawn when I found the letter and I can't tell you how it felt to know it was over and I was free from that feeling of not knowing if it was day or night outside, free of the fear of not being free. Freedom is a precious gift that is taken for granted in this country because we don't know what not having it is like, until for a moment it is taken away. In that moment, you are powerless, helpless and terrified beyond belief. I can't thank Shawn enough for giving me back my freedom!!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
