Worked with Lynda for six months to finalize my divorce and I will say I did receive what I wanted in my divorce settlement. However; the process was EXTREMELY costly in the amount of almost $200,000. My first meeting with her required a retainer payment with my debit and credit cards on file. As time progressed communication seemed to fade while automatic charges to my debit and credit cards increased. Decisions to take the liberty to perform other legal services related to me were decided without my knowledge. Detailed invoices were not sent to me for review BEFORE authorizing the charges to my cards. I thought this was odd, but went along with it to bring my divorce to a close. What surprised me was when the automatic charges continued AFTER my divorce. A few documents related to my divorce trickled into Lynda's office in the months to follow and it wasn't until I reviewed my credit card statement that I saw a charge for an additional $1,500 4 months after the divorce. I questioned the charge and was met with a demeaning email stating that everyone in her office was surprised that I would expect them to work for free! I immediately responded with an email sharing past emails and documentation on why I felt like the charges were excessive. Not only did the office not call me to explain the charge, they charged me for reading my protest email and then charged my card an addition $1,600. Making the total charge $3,100. I sent an email stating that their services were no longer needed and any further charges to my cards would result in reporting them to the fraud department. Still no call or reply at all. In the meantime, I am doing business with another law firm and this is a their cover letter statement for their professional billing practices, "Enclosed please find your invoices for professional services rendered to you. Upon your review of these invoices , if satisfactory, please forward payment in the return envelope enclosed for your convenience. It is a continuing pleasure to be of service to you. Please give me a call if you have any questions regarding these invoices or if we can be of assistance to you in any manner." Now I know the difference of being a valued client and bulldogged. I will never be a client to anyone again who is surprised that I'm surprised!!!

She was appointed by the court as an amicus to represent the well-being of my children. The truth is the only interest she had was just collecting money and not doing her job. With over a year invested into my child custody case she did not contact one school teacher one principal one assistant principal or one councillor pretending to my two boys. She did in fact bill me for calling the school and who she spoke to your guess is as good as mine. Both my children stated and expressed their desire to leave their current living condition and return to living with me she had no interest in listening to them or the things that they were going through. To top things off she kept my credit card on file and build it at will for amounts that I did not owe. I just needed to charge with my credit card company and won the dispute. When I'm called her office her office was so unprofessional and hung up on me I could not answer my questions it was very belligerent. When I brought to their attention that all of my phone calls were recorded they were doing everything they could to work with me. When does only desire is her own personal financial gain not the well-being of you your case or your children run run run

My first meeting with Lynda Burke-Bentley was exactly what I wanted in an attorney. That is why I hired her to be my divorce attorney. That's where it all ended. After giving my retainer, I never spoke with her on the phone but was charged her rate to speak to her assistant, Tenley Robinson. Lynda did exactly what she wanted to do and not what was in the best interest of me, her client. Even when I begged and pleaded with Lynda to settle, she refused. This ultimately cost me approximately $70,000 for her services for my divorce. I never met with her before either of my mediations. I felt very unprepared going into mediation and my divorce was a very contentious divorce that she made even worse. In the end, I got less in the settlement than what my ex had offered me to begin with. I would NEVER recommend Lynda Burke-Bentley to anyone going through a divorce. She was recommended to me because she is known as a "bulldog". I just didn't know she would turn that bulldog mentality on me, her client.
