I hired Lynda 11 years ago for my divorce. She seemed great through the entire transaction. What I didn’t know was that she was not protecting me in the slightest. She wrote in my divorce decree that my ex could keep the house and that I wasn’t liable for anything owed on the house whatsoever. What s...he didn’t mention was that no bank or credit union on earth had to adhere to my divorce decree. She should have forced a sale or refinance of the house. My decree looks like there are no holes in that plan except that she apparently doesn’t know the law. 11 years later and my credit, that should be impeccable due to my own financing is as low as it could possibly go because I can’t get out from under this debt. I was young and had no knowledge of the law. She was supposed to be a top notch attorney who understood the law. I will never own my own home thanks to her negligence. Run from her as your attorney.

I really don't know what I would have done without Lynda in my corner during my divorce. She is such a strong and knowledgeable attorney. Her team was really on the ball and I am more than happy how everything turned out. My first meeting with Lynda Burke-Bentley was exactly what I wanted in an attorney. That is why I hired her to be my divorce attorney. That's where it all ended. After giving my retainer, I never spoke with her on the phone but was charged her rate to speak to her assistant, Tenley Robinson. Lynda di...d exactly what she wanted to do and not what was in the best interest of me, her client. Even when I begged and pleaded with Lynda to settle, she refused. This ultimately cost me approximately $70,000 for her services for my divorce. I never met with her before either of my mediations. I felt very unprepared going into mediation and my divorce was a very contentious divorce that she made even worse. In the end, I got less in the settlement than what my ex had offered me to begin with. I would NEVER recommend Lynda Burke-Bentley to anyone going through a divorce. She was recommended to me because she is known as a "bulldog". I just didn't know she would turn that bulldog mentality on me, her client.
