I hired Lynda F Bentley/Burke to represent me in a divorce. The $25,000.00 non refundable retainer is a red flag (FTA Fair Trade Act). Incorrect billing invoices is a red flag. Only 3 personal meetings and zero phone consultations during the about one year divorce proceedings. Paralegal service ...hours were charged at lawyer rate of $400 hr. Lynda was late, unprepared and useless at my divorce mediation. Client dispute on overcharging for conference calls not made. Need I say any more! Beware!

My first meeting with Lynda Burke-Bentley was exactly what I wanted in an attorney. That is why I hired her to be my divorce attorney. That's where it all ended. After giving my retainer, I never spoke with her on the phone but was charged her rate to speak to her assistant, Tenley Robinson. Lynda di...d exactly what she wanted to do and not what was in the best interest of me, her client. Even when I begged and pleaded with Lynda to settle, she refused. This ultimately cost me approximately $70,000 for her services for my divorce. I never met with her before either of my mediations. I felt very unprepared going into mediation and my divorce was a very contentious divorce that she made even worse. In the end, I got less in the settlement than what my ex had offered me to begin with. I would NEVER recommend Lynda Burke-Bentley to anyone going through a divorce. She was recommended to me because she is known as a "bulldog". I just didn't know she would turn that bulldog mentality on me, her client.
