I paid 800.00 for what seemed like a hurried consultation at which she berated me almost the entire time. I Walked out of her office feeling lower than when i came in. If you show the least bit of mental weakness, this bulldog charges and rips you apart!! My fragile state could not have held up u...nder her insults, had i hired her. She had the nerve to ask me as i was walking out of the consultation room if i had paid my consultation fee. The receptionist takes this fee before you are allowed to speak with her. That question was another bulldog move to flex her power over a person in a vulnerable state. No empathy at all. It was a horrible experience all the way around.. However, to be fair, if you can stand up to bully types, I have every bit of faith that she will get the job done in your favor.

Ms. Burgower handled a divorce/custody case for me. I initially hired her because of her reputation as a bulldog. However, as her client I became the recipient of her wrath. She was difficult to deal with, called and berated me on multiple occasions. In my opinion, it is never OK for an attorney ...to yell at and insult their client. Especially when the client is calm in demeanor and looking for help. Hiring her only increased my stress level at a difficult time.

In probably one of the most uncomfortable things you are going to experience there is nothing more important than having the smarter lawyer. I got the truth, good and bad, from Wendy. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand and give you a box of Kleenex then you need to look elsewhere. I w...ant to give a very clear picture here. Divorce is war people. There are 2 lawyers in this fight and 1 of them represents you. I viewed Wendy as a gladiator- she's tough on you and even tougher on the other side. You are well prepared and she has an excellent support staff(thanks Diana!). Bottom line someone as good as her doesn't turn things off when it's just the 2 of you in room. Think about that when you are about to trust someone else with the most important things in your life.

I have been a trial lawyer for 30 years and so I know a good one when I see them. I hired Wendy for my divorce and she made what could have been a horrible experience into a tolerable one. I have now used her more than once and I have been very pleased with the results. She is frank, direct, ruthless..., and typically the smartest lawyer in the courtroom. I would not think of getting divorced (or married), without her.
