Peta-Gay Antoinette Mattis

Peta A. Mattis is the founder and Managing Partner of the Mattis Law Firm and General Counsel for Curtis Mattis Property Management, a division of The Mattis Group.  Prior to the establishment of Mattis Law Firm in 2009, Peta Mattis worked as an Insurance Defense Attorney at Powers and Slay and the Law Offices of Smith and Woodruff, Zurich North America.

Ms. Mattis’ practice focuses on civil litigation and immigration law. She is an experienced attorney who frequently represents individuals and major companies across industries including insurance, engineering, health care, and construction. She was named as one of the top professionals on the fast track in 2006 by H Texas Magazine.  She was also named one of Houston’s Top Lawyers for the People in 2008 by H Texas magazine and one of the Forty Attorneys to watch in Houston by the I10 Media Group in 2014.

Peta Mattis attended public schools in Houston, TX and attended Texas A&M University, College Station, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1999. She attended law school in Kansas City, Missouri and completed her law degree at South Texas College of Law, from which she graduated in 2002.  She has been licensed to practice law in the state of Texas since October of 2002.

Born in Portland, Jamaica, Ms. Mattis immigrated to the United States of America in 1987.  When she is not advocating for her clients rights, she likes to travel and read.
