Curtis graduated with honors from the University of Houston Law Center and received his Texas State Bar card in 2017. During law school, Curtis worked as an intern for two federal judges in the Southern District of Texas: Senior Judge David Hittner and Magistrate Judge Jason B. Libby. He has experience with habeas orders and illegal re-entry, and he has seen numerous criminal cases in federal court. Before joining Walker & Taylor, Curtis worked at a civil law firm in downtown Houston. His work consisted of mostly personal injury, products liability, and insurance disputes.
Prior to law school, Curtis worked as a research scientist, aboard commercial fishing vessels, in the Bering Sea off the coast of Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Curtis has his License to Carry a Handgun in Texas and is a proud card-carrying member of the NRA.
Curtis has experience in criminal defense matters, with a focus on self-defense cases including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct, and many others.
