M. Todd Slobin

I consider Todd to be the BEST labor/employment attorney in Houston. Todd goes above and beyond. He is an outstanding, incredible, dedicated, and intelligent attorney. He is honest, fair, realistic, and incredibly experienced in dealing with all matters of employment law. Todd answered all questions ...effectively. Todd advocated for me, strategized for me, and stood by me 110%. He did not pressure me to make any decisions I did not want, gave great guidance and support, helped me see what's possible for my future, and fought for me. Shellist | Lazarz | Slobin LLP represented myself and four other coworkers in an employment law related matter that began late in 2015. I can not speak highly enough about Mr. Slobin, Daryl Sinkule, and their assistant Andrea Willingham. Mr. Sinkukle was assigned our case very early on. In fact, I met him the day before our trial was scheduled to begin. What you need to know about Todd is that his skills compliment the jury setting quite well. The moment Voir Dire began you could tell all potential jurors liked him, the judge liked him, and opposing counsel hated themselves because they couldn't help but like him. The highlight of our three day federal court affair was watching Todd cross a high level executive. For context, the gentleman was known within our company as being a "cleaner." After 3 hours on the stand, and some very clever questioning from our attorney, the executive walked away with a thousand mile stare...and we walked away with a verdict in our favor. I had the good fortune of being represented by Daryl Sinkule in a class action suit of 5 coworkers including myself. I had no idea whether we had a chance for a favorable verdict or not. I felt early on it was a coin-toss but Daryl educated us not only in the violations against us, but that he was wi...lling to pursue the endeavor - simply in the name of justice. Who still does that? At the time of this writing I have no idea of any monetary awards to me. I only know that justice was served and I have peace from it. Todd was brought in to assist with the trial portion of the liability lawsuit against our previous employer who had miss-classified the appropriate employees as exempt vs non-exempt. Even though the suit had gone on for at least two years, Todd did not rest to uncover evidence - right up until late the night prior to the trials beginning. This paid off, and new evidence was admitted and contributed greatly to the verdict outcome. His coaching approach with plaintiffs, who have never been exposed to the experience of testifying, was confidence-building and prepared us for for what was to come. His timing during the final cross-examinations was spot-on with finesse & poise during the orchestration of his questioning. One of the most encouraging experiences of the trial was the syncopation between Daryl and Todd. Daryl did what he does best, Todd what he does best. Collaboration defined. Kindling trust past the point of just a business relationship has left me grateful, hopeful and empowered - that, not only can I stand up for myself, but that there are others who will stand up beside me.
