Unique, Rare, Bold Professional Criminal Defense Attorney with Integrity.

I relocated from Seattle, WA to Houston, TX for a new job and within the 1st week of relocating was booked & charged with a DWI 1st with a history in another state. As someone who has always believed in having a well-rounded, dynamic attorney, who can adapt to the ever-changing landscape of draconian... judicial enforcement, I did some research and found the Thiessen Law Firm. After speaking with Mark Thiessen about my case, who just happened to be out of town on his Honeymoon, I reviewed other lawyers at the firm and came away extremely impressed with Dan's resume & personal background. In a way, I saw myself in Dan and I could feel and see God's footprints in Dan's life. I knew Dan had been tested in not only his personal life, but professional life and in analyzing his life trajectory path, I personally believed he was a fighter, like me. When the pressure is really on, most people fold. The great ones will themselves forward & find a way to excel; no excuses. So, I scheduled a 15 minute free consultation in person at his office. I could tell he was extremely busy, but he made time for me. Knowing he finished 1st in his law school classes out of over 1,200 people, worked both sides of the aisle prosecuting and now defense, coupled with the fact that he was hired by Mark Thiessen, who is arguably the best Criminal Defense attorney in the state of Texas, quickly I could see he was a straight shooter, likable, confident, a quick thinker, disciplined, genuine, and he cared in his responses. Having met a plethora of attorney's and state senators over the years, I knew Dan had the rare genetic makeup to be great. After the free consultation, I sensed Dan didn't think I would return to hire him. I like to keep people guessing: I personally did Salvage & Marine Firefighting Compliance per 33CFR155Subparts I & J for any non-tank vessel over 400 gross tons to enter American waters in 42 ports for over 5,500 ships, including every cruise ship in America, so I wanted to surprise Dan when I returned to pay him the next day. He was gracious, cordial and upbeat. I had gotten arrested with an WA license, which the officer wrongfully took, so the 1st course of action was getting a TX license, keeping that license (Props Dan) and getting a car interlock installed on my vehicle. It took Harris County 6 months to finally retrieve the facts of my case after multiple court reset dates (No worries: Dan got us in & out fast)(He knows how to work the room: Think Sharon Stone in Casino) & monthly check-ins through Pre-Trial Services: I declined the breathalyzer, only to have blood drawn with a warrant hours later. My BAL came back at .145, just under the .15 cutoff for the DPTI Diversion Program. I personally thought program acceptance was a long shot, but CAST results & DAN behind the scenes, became the difference maker. Simply put: It pays to have a great attorney. I am now in that program and extremely grateful for Dan's persistence, short and long run plans, advice, and I feel honestly like Dan will be a life long friend. It came as no surprise to me to see Dan beat Judge Jay Karahan in a Landslide, who sat on the Harris County Criminal Court of Law No. 8 for over 16+ years. Its great to see what you always thought, knew, and believed to be true unfold before your very eyes. I pick winners. Dan's a winner.
