Jospeh Ahmad was recommended to me by a co-worker of my wife's as I went through a challenging separation from my employer. I met with Mr. Ahmad before my separation and he was very attentive and made me comfortable in my choice of coming to him. He agreed to represent me. After I separated from my j...ob, I would request contact with Mr. Ahmad for weeks and months on end with no response; and even when I did get a response, it would be from his paralegals, not him. When I finally was able to meet with Mr. Ahmad, I gave him the opportunity to send me on my way -- I said I realized he was busy and I was not a high profile, high money case. He apologized and said he would still like to represent me. Mr. Ahmad then advised me to file a complaint with the EEOC of Texas as a preliminary step against my former employer in an attempt to demonstrate we were serious and that a settlement would be in their best interests. Time continued to pass and when we were within a month of my deadline to file a lawsuit (following the EEOC investigation), I began to frequently contact Mr. Ahmad's office asking what our next steps should be. When I finally heard back, it was again from a paralegal, who advised me that Mr. Ahmad was dropping me as a client and would not represent me any further. This was approximately ten days before my filing deadline. Now living across the country, I had nowhere near enough time to contact a new attorney, have them agree to represent me, share my backstory AND get a lawsuit filed in time. As a result, I was left without any recourse.
