Most of us do not have our own attorney because we never plan to need one. My son had an acute psychotic break and was being treated at a behavioral health hospital. We had a face-to-face meeting with Mr. David Cunningham and reviewed our son’s situation. Mr. Cunningham was professional, competent, yet very personable and it was obvious he practiced with integrity. Furthermore, he knows the Harris County court system and has been a licensed attorney for 38 years as a criminal defense attorney. We had no idea what the arrest would involve and what steps would be required. When Mr. Cunningham met with us, he told us what the cost would be up front, and the steps involved in our dealing with the charge. Mr. Cunningham communicated with us through text, phone calls, and an occasional in person meeting. He communicated frequently and kept us up to date on what was going on. With some advice from Mr. Cunningham, we documented our son’s progress, the doctor plans (psychiatrist and psychologist) and medication regiment he was following. This detailed treatment plan was presented to the other attorney, and the case was dismissed. Mr. Cunningham took an interest in our son’s case and was very caring and pleasant to work with during the legal processes. In addition, he explained it all in language and terms we could understand. We are now working with Mr. Cunningham to get the records associated with this arrest expunged. We are incredibly pleased with Mr. Cunningham. I was arrested during the pandemic, and the courts were resetting everyone. David Cunningham, went the extra mile to assure received a speedy resolution. the result was even better than I expected. working with the court and the prosecutor he convinced them that the case was without any merit, secur...ing a dismissal. Then, as I was on parole, he represented me before the Parole Board convincing the Board that there was no probable cause that I had violated any condition of my parole He did a Great Job and I will be forever grateful for his help.

David helped turn a horribly embarrassing arrest into a turning point in my life. I thought it was just a case that I had to get through. David helped me realize the things that I needed to do to get my life straightened back out, permanently. He always returns calls, but prefers texts, never misses ...a date and has great relationships with the DA's and judges. I was charged with 2 count ( felonies ) child abandoned with intent to return . I was currently on probation and he did everything to keep me from getting revoked . I was able to stay free while fighting for my case for almost a year . After that I was able to sign for probation and even got deferred... adjudication for those 2 cases at the end of ending term I can have it expunged and out of my record .
