Most of us do not have our own attorney because we never plan to need one. My son had an acute psychotic break and was being treated at a behavioral health hospital. Furthermore, he knows the Harris County court system and has been a licensed attorney for 38 years as a criminal defense attorney. We had no idea what the arrest would involve and what steps would be required. When Mr. Cunningham met with us, he told us what the cost would be up front, and the steps involved in our dealing with the charge. Mr. Cunningham communicated with us through text, phone calls, and an occasional in person meeting. He communicated frequently and kept us up to date on what was going on. With some advice from Mr. Cunningham, we documented our son’s progress, the doctor plans (psychiatrist and psychologist) and medication regiment he was following.
