My husband and I contacted Josh Pearson due to a lack of response from Wayne Bachus, in handling the estate of my father in law. Josh, was very sympathetic and informative of the law. He offered to send out a letter on our behalf to Mr Bachus. He stated that he would begin working on the letter the n...ext day. This was not a large estate matter, but a concern that monies were not being spend in a fair and legal matter. We only received partial requested documents from Bachus and they were scanned to us in an email all out of order. Future emails to Josh went unanswered and left us feeling like we were duped twice, first by Bachus then by Josh. Josh is a bright young lawyer but insensitive to the feelings of clients who are going through an emotional dilemma. We had never hired an attorney before, and maybe we expected too much. When we paid up front for the service, we expected at least an email response. He did finally answer a phone call when we desparately needed advice about meeting with a family member, however. He left us feeling abandoned, frustrated, and overall like we had made a mistake in hiring him. I think maybe he had taken on too many cases and ours was on the bottom of his priorities list, due to the low financial involvement.

I acquired Josh's services almost 2 years ago for a custody case. I understood it was a long shot, but win or loose I expected him to be knowledgeable and give his best regardless of the outcome. Josh was very friendly and courteous on the phone leading up to the initialization of my case, but since ...paying my retainer he has became impossible to reach. Over the near 2 year span I have only spoke to Josh prior to my case, once just prior to a hearing and in once I received an email. I have been fooled into thinking the firm was waiting on response from opposing counsel when in truth the opposing counsel had no requirements in the case, which tells me I have slipped through the cracks. I have only received updates after requesting them, sometimes only after multiple attempts, and each email or phone call requesting an update has been billed. I believe Josh is a very young and green' attorney and because of that his rates are very reasonable. However, if I could go back and do this again I would have paid much more for an experienced attorney.

You hope to never need an attorney, but circumstances may present themselves that require legal assistance. I requested Mr. Pearson's services a little over year ago concerning a termination of parental right and stepparent adoption. I had been to court twice prior and had spent over $7500. The f...irst time I ran out of money without a resolution, the second I spent $2500 for one phone call and an attorney that did not come to court. I was very unsatisfied with my prior experiences and nervous about taking this on, but for the well being of my child, my husband and I did. From the moment I interacted with this firm I was amazed and it stayed that way. I requested and received an appointment within two days through this website. The office is easy to locate and very comfortable. Josh spent over an hour with my husband and I. He was an astute listener, we were not rushed, and afterwards I was calm. We left that day knowing that nothing was guaranteed, that the road was long, but that there was hope. We had not had that for a long time. If you sit down with Mr. Pearson you can be rest assured he will deliver an honest interpretation of the situation as you present it and that he will exceed your expectations. The termination took the longest and due to the increase in business over the year I was represented in court by Mr. Pearson, Mr. Miller, and Irena (a newly hired attorney). Everyone was well prepared and even though they were not all with us from the beginning, each attorney was knowledgeable about the case. I would recommend any of the three. I would also like to mention that most of my correspondence through email and even the phone was through a paralegal, Mandy, who was immediate in answering calls and email. She contacted me a number of times throughout the case to make sure I was getting what I needed. For instance, in the beginning we were asked whether we desired a name change. At the time my child did not want this. We were asked again when the termination was completed and again said no. The day the adoption files were to be submitted she asked again and again I said no. This time my child changed mind and I had to ask if she could change the forms that were already filled out. It was done without a problem even though we had been asked three times. This is the kind of personal attention the entire firm gives out. The retainer was reasonable, covered the entire year, and we received a substantial refund. Overall this firm goes above and beyond any expectation I could have.

I've dealt with a few attorneys within Bell County over the past few years, and my experiences have not been the greatest. I learned the hard way that cheaper isn't always better (especially when you need a good attorney). I contacted Mr. Pearson about my child custody/visitation issue and he explai...ned all of my options. He was also familiar with the judge, so he gave me his opinion on what his decision might be. He is very patient, knowledgeable, and pays attention to detail. The way he dissected the other party's false accusations at our hearing was a work of art. I thought things like that only occurred on TV :). I suggest anyone looking for an attorney in his area call his office before you retain another attorney.
