Surprising in a bad way

I've worked with Josh's office before and have been very happy. I turned to him again to help with my elderly father's guardianship case. Josh was very sympathetic and understanding as I made it clear my father's decision making was deteriorating rapidly and I needed to act soon. I paid the requir...ed amount on Feb 2 and Josh said by email "We will get started drafting your pleadings and getting them on file with the court in the coming days. I will let you know if we need anything from you." Two weeks went by without any word so I called the office and left a friendly message with the receptionist. I didn't receive a return call or email. About a week later I called again and left a message with the receptionist; same result - nothing. I called again on Feb 22 and again on 23, no answer at all now but straight to voice mail. At this point I'm surprised and disappointed, but can't wait any longer. On Feb 23 I terminated the relationship by email and asked for a full refund. As of Friday Feb 26 I'd heard absolutely nothing from Josh or his office, so I disputed the payment through my credit card company.

I'm sorry that we had some miscommunication on this matter as we have always worked very well together in the past. As I explained in my communication there have been some significant changes recently to guardianship law, who can file, and how guardianships must be filed. We did take some additional time to ensure all new requirements were being met and there wouldn't be any issues later in the case. My office waived several fees and charges as a result of the client not being happy and issued a full refund of the amount paid for this matter. The client acknowledged in an email to my office that he received the refund check in the mail. I have not received any notice of a credit card dispute, nor do I understand why one would have been filed. I am very sorry this client was unhappy with this case and have reached out to him to attempt to discuss this matter further.
