FIVE STARS FOR ROMI L. Let's Go!!!

My journey in finding Martinez Legal PC absolutely involved looking at the reviews, in particular, the undesirable ones- like everyone else. I've been an At-Home mom for nearly 30 yrs and I'm trying to survive a traumatic experience, behind the EIGHT BALL, without losing all of my marbles. Mentionabl...e: I was REFERRED to Romi and her law firm by another respected lawyer who represented my opposing side. What a divine referral! I'd like to honorably mention her name (last name starts with a G-lol) but this is All about Romi! I had already represented myself for as much of the process as I could. I watched lawyers charge up for their fees and for those of their team, make opening/closing statements, thinking "I can do that!" And before I could blink twice, the deed was done. I was not regarded as part of the process, nor was I allowed a place to be heard as I was told I would be.( and rightfully so, this is a system that "only they" respectfully know how to operate in) Now aside from the trauma, I begin going in to my golden years stripped, no home, car, job, nor family. NOTHING. So in my desperation, I sought organizations who might could help, via phone, and computer for a fraction of the cost. "PEOPLE-DON'T DO THIS." Put your face on people who are taking your money for service. I could not afford any of what I was being dragged through - yet I found myself walking into their business. They could've turned me away as I was in my "mad-hatter" state but they made me feel welcomed, booked me an appointment, heard my story, received my case and began to take care of business. I am finally at the end of my journey with these professionals and I would surely refer them to Any and Everyone going through such a dirty mess. I was given a few guidelines to abide in, certain disciplines to follow which protects their ability to conduct business, plus it cues me to be aware of my own personal behavior- How refreshing! we all have a job to do. This was the beginning of peace of mind for me. I had no other choice but to trust this process and trust my lawyer's ability. They were the right team for this job. Romi L LISTENED to what I needed. She had to clean up what was dirty. I bow in honor to her. She "read" me to gauge the direction she would go in. I could see the Axe, the Machete, the Sword, the arsenal of weapons in her little chat bubbles over her as she listened. She verbalized possibilities, options, solutions, etc. You are not left in confusion, if you just ask, her wheels will turn for you-her client. There's nothing wimpy about this lady. She's ready for battle if necessary. She was ready to go aggressively for my case but I'm grateful for her discernment. Romi came to our final appearance before a 'visting' judge (who was a tad-bit snippy), and represented me well, in her attire, her composure, her expertise and her compassion. She owned the building. I needed all of that representing me. As I reflect back to that day, she looked as if she was representing My husband and I. (The look of it was PERFECT). It might've given the judge a head tilt tho'. My God, My journey, and this covenant was not mocked because of her proper handling of my case. The entire team, beginning with the first contact, a young woman who booked my appointment (might've been Minerva)- I was in "mad-hatter" mode so all I remember was THE HUG. The other members of the team who make the difference,- Thank you Monica for your ear and your compassion, Thank you Stephanie for keeping the communication clear and non-judgmental. Thank you Marci, Jennifer, Ashe from QDRO, and anyone else I may have missed as a part of this process. I can't thank Romi enough. I don't have words like a legal team but I want to PAY IT FORWARD if I can , now and in the future. May God bless this establishment and those who work in it. What an ugly job, but you all make it look beautiful.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Only in it for the money (in my opinion). I hired Romi Swartz from the firm, based on the recommendation that she would be aggressive in my case. She confirmed that she would be aggressive during the initial consultation. She definitely was NOT aggressive (from my perspective). I was billed for s...o called strategy meetings, but I was never made aware of any strategy (despite asking many times), nor did I see anything that would resemble any kind of strategy. In addition, this firm charges a 5% maintenance fee, which I was not told about during the consultation. I was constantly told that I owed them money and they would withdrawal from my case, even though I had pay the fees. They even told my new attorney that I was bad at paying the fees owed. I spent upwards of 10K with this firm, with extremely little progress in my case. I am now having to pretty much start over with my new attorney to fix the many errors that were made and get my divorce case to move forward.
