Sharon K. Lowry

I have been in Denton since coming to the University of North Texas as an undergraduate in 1967.  I graduated with a Ph.D. in history in 1980 and worked in corporate communications at Texas Instruments until starting my own freelance writing business in 1996.  My husband passed away in 2002 after a four-year battle with emphysema, and I started teaching at North Central College in Corinth.  In 2005, I realized the dream of a lifetime and started law school at Texas Wesleyan University (now Texas A&M) School of Law, from which I graduated in 2009.  

My practice is mostly wills, probate, and powers of attorney because that is the best combination of my legal training and my life experience.  I understand that the decisions associated with making wills, health-care powers of attorney, and advance directives are emotional and hard.  I try to help people through that process.  In addition, I try to de-mystify the probate process and make it as simple and painless as possible for people who are grieving the loss of a family member.  Let me deal with the legal paperwork; you have more important things to do when a family member dies.
