Mr. David Kelley and Lisa Gavia are great! From the start Mr. Kelley explained to me how my child custody case was going to be handled because I had no idea what I was doing. I was very nervous when my ex decided to file for full custody. During my consultation, I could tell Mr. Kelley was experienced and knew exactly how to navigate through my custody battle. When I went for a consultation (which are free), David listened to my questions and worries and assured me that my case would not be difficult as long as it wasn't a tense battle over every tiny detail, as it wasn't a divorce just child custody and support. The retainer fee, while intimidating to pay... upfront, covered the cost of the two court hearings and orders and any phone calls and emails made between us. I didn't hire David until a week before my court hearing as I only got a week's notice for it and contacted him immediately and, true to his word, he set up a different date so he could catch up to the paperwork, and he took care of everything. The outcome of the permanent order was the most desirable outcome that could've occurred and I have no complaints against his practice and office. When I would call his office, Lisa would answer and if not available, leaving a voicemail would guarantee a call back and she answered any questions I had.

My original court order was from another state and needed to be transferred to Texas and modified. Our previous court experience was quite contentious and I was very concerned that would be the case again. David and Lisa were fantastic, thorough, and tremendously helpful at helping understanding ...the differences between the state I had been in and what I could expect in Texas. I felt comfortable with their advice and that I was making making sound decisions in the modification. Ultimately, he found creative ways to help me get what I wanted without giving up the terms that were most important to me, which is truly all that matters in the long run. As with my previous case, I made the decision to hire David because of his willingness to listen to my story and what was important to me before telling me what I should do or how we should proceed. I found David to be firm, but consistent, and very much appreciated his approach to my case with me and opposing counsel. Should I need further legal assistance in my case, I would not hesitate to hire him again.
