I had retained Mark quickly on a custody case, immediately laying out the history of what has happened to date and explaining that this case is bound to become a beast of a case. Mark explained that it is a fairly simple custody battle, even though opposing counsel is requesting 100% rights and zero ...mother-visitation. I trusted in him and retained him. Paid the $5000 up front, and acknowledged how i am glad he is taking it up. I had called the court once to ask about a hearing date and they communicated a new date to me. this is the date I gave Mark. a month later, prior to the date we were set on, I receive a court order ordering me to give up my son immediately, and that I have lost all rights to my son and that I am a danger (i am a very safe, caring, and healthy mother. and have nothing against me). I immediately switched lawyers who were able to show me that the reason I lost my son is because MARK CHILDRESS did not write a response to the court until an entire month after it was due. I asked Mark personally about this and he responded that it was my fault for making it sound like I made an appearance and giving him the wrong date. This is nothing but excuses since any good lawyer should be able to do a quick look up on the case and get the correct dates, and he should be fully aware of what has and has not happened. I now have a very caring and very amazing lawyer who is trying to fix the case. unfortunately, for months long I have had to hear the judge destroy me and my rights simply because of Marks neglect to the case. And this is not even mentioning his continuous spelling mistakes, unprofessional emails, unavailability, week-late responses and harsh tone of voice when speaking. No attorney should neglect your case to this extend. Highly dissatisfied!

Worst attorney I've dealt with in my life. Was referred to him by my sister who works with his aunt. I had a fairly simple divorce that I needed assistance with. He's incredibly unresponsive. Takes him days to return an email. Once he called me to yell at me because in an email I wrote to him I told ...him I needed his legal advice quickly. He wanted to lay out the "ground rules" on how I'm allowed to communicate with him. He told me if I wanted him to be more responsive, I could pay him $50,000/month and he'd only focus on me. He drafted the original petition in about 30 minutes by changing the names on an old petition he already had. I had to point out an error that still referred to the other case. I prepared and sent him the inventory and appraisal without any assistance from him. When we finally got to the mediation, he just wanted to get out of the there. Never fought for anything. Just wanted to type up the settlement agreement in real time so he could be done with it. He told me he really hoped it could finish soon so he could get to the golf course. He always gave me the impression that I wasn't worth his time. My little divorce just wasn't that important to him. In my opinion, he added literally zero value to my divorce and caused my settlement to be worse than it would have been had I been represented by competent counsel. My strong advice is to steer clear of this guy.

My wife and I hired Mark Childress based on word of mouth. And, I am extremely pleased we did. The outcome could not have been better. Mark was upfront when it came to questions. He never beat around the bush. Nor did he over promise and under deliver. (Which is very common among lawyers.) Let me jus...t say the cards were stacked against us. So I don't have the time to really explain my entire situation and how Mark handled it, but I will say that the guy is smart, he knows what he is doing, he will make the best decision for you without you having to worry about it, just listen to what he says and trust him and he will take care of you.... Thank You Mark! Very intelligent, organized, and prompt lawyer. He's got his head on his shoulders and takes care of his business. I respect this man. If I have any further issues he is going to be the first guy I call.

Mark childress is currently my lawyer. My sister is sueing me for custady of my son christian.
