DO NOT USE ATTORNEY!!!

Requested 2000 to handle a case for modification in visitation for my child. He wanted 1000 up front to file in court. After he was paid I basically never heard from him again. Even the staff stopped answering my calls. I file a grievance 3 years ago and was said to be getting my money back but o...n their time not mine. I feel like my money was taken quick but I have to wait years to get my money back. This guy should be forever banned from practicing law until he pays everything he took from everyone.

ROBBER, LIAR AND A THIEF

I hired Mr. Ocampo to file for a non-disclosure for me on 4/16/15 the date of my incident was 12/20/2013. I paid him $1500.00. He told me that in order to file it three years have to lapse before he could do any thing with it. I am not an attorney but trusted what he told me, and what he could do for... me. I know nothing about law! At first, when his office was in The Star Telegram building after the initial meeting and payment in full, I would call him from time to time just to keep in touch and not let my case be forgotten or go by the wayside. I would get the; "he's in court today or he's with a client" . I understand that those are valid reasons and left a message to please give me a call. Only once did he call me during all that time. Told me everything was on track. This was after I had called his office and had left a message with his paralegal about a potential civil case lawsuit against another person for the sum of $200,000.00 and needed his advise. The next time I called, his paralegal told me they had relocated to Berry St. halfway between Hemphill St. and 8th Ave. One day I was in that part of town and paid him a surprise visit. Walked in and asked his paralegal if Mr. Ocampo was there she said yes but he's with a client. I told her I'd wait, she said she didn't know how long he was going to be with his client. I told her "Okay, I'll wait" and sat down. The paralegal said, "It may take two or three hours". I told her I would still wait. After a few minutes she got up and went into his office. Within two or three minutes he came out shook my hand and started escorting me to the door. I asked about my case, as it had been nearing the three years. He told me, "I got all the paper work done I just need to file it". That was in April of this year, 2017. He told me I could have called or left a message. I told him, "I have but you never called me back on any of the many times I left the voicemail's on your phone and as far as leaving you a message with your paralegal, you never returned any of my messages or you simply chose to ignore them". He reassured me that he was on top of it and (the work) would be done. I waited until July of this year, 2017 to get in touch with him on his cell phoneleft a voice mail. I then called his office and got a recording that the number dialed was no longer a working number. I felt my stomach drop. I called his cell phone again, got his voice mail again and left the message to call me. As of today I've not seen or heard hide nor hair of him. I guess he missed 'taking care of your customer' class while studying for the Bar. I'm planning on filing a Grievance to the State Bar of Texas. To the other people he 'stole' money from I wish you well and good luck with your cases.

DWI Case

Charles help me out in all aspects of my case. This was my first offense and he made sure to always have my best interests in mind. He and his staff followed up with me until my probation was complete. Really went above and beyond the call of duty.

Said one thing, did the opposite

Contacted me at 4:45 pm the night before to notify me of my hearing the next day. Said not to worry about appearing, would be in contact by phone and would not agree to anything without my consent. Notified after the hearing that he went ahead and agreed to all of the demands of the other party (with...out calling me) but not to worry as he was going to ask for a hearing to have the judge "reconsider". Told me the judge didn't really have time to hear my case anyway as the caseload was so heavy that day. Three weeks later and no word despite two calls to his office requesting an update about the next hearing. Wage garnishment was filed same day as hearing taking 50% of my income (the maximum allowable) putting my income below poverty level. Could have gone in with no lawyer at all for this outcome. At the initial consultation, I was led to believe that this outcome was the worst case scenario and that every step would be taken to ensure I was not left with inadequate income to support myself and my family. I have no faith in this attorney and now have no funds to retain another.

Top Notch A++++ Attorney

We had a step parent adoption case and Charles and his team were so wonderful during the entire process. Charles took the time to consult with me over the phone and in person. He wanted to make sure we were taking the correct legal steps since our attorney general case was out of a different county.... We were kept in the loop about the status of the case so it went smoother than I anticipated. His legal staff is definitely on top of things and you really can't go wrong choosing him. Our adoption was final 06/24/16 and we could not be any happier with the results. We are a family now and can't thank Charles and his team enough. We will definitely be hiring Charles for future legal things we need handled. A++++ in our book :)
