Be wary!
Talked a great game in the initial consult. Hired him and paid the retainer fee (quite significant amount), stated would definitely get a refund, the other party didn't have a leg to stand on. Knew the judge and would get the settlement easily. Burned through the initial retainer, had to pay 2 mor...
I am of course disappointed to see someone dissatisfied with how the case concluded. Ouch! Since you’ve withheld your name, I can’t readily identify who this review is coming from, but if my instinct is correct, attorney fees weren’t recoverable in your case - and that made continuing the fight somewhat questionable from an economic standpoint since you were paying for the case on an hourly (not contingency fee) basis. We discussed that fact throughout the case - how every penny spent on legal was ultimately reducing the end-of-day recovery, so proceed with great caution - and at some point you agreed that it was best to get as much as possible and move on. You APPROVED the settlement; I didn’t force it. (That would be unethical, perhaps illegal.) I remain sorry, however, for your apparent ill sentiment and hope you’ll place the blame where it belongs - with the opposing party’s unreasonable delay. If you would like to meet with me to discuss this further, please let me know.
