Personable attorney that works directly with you and does what he says he will do and more!

I have learned the very hard and expensive way that hiring a well-marketed, high-dollar attorney is not always the best route. I initially went this route and was going broke with little to no results. It’s a very long story, which I only mention to establish how much of a wreck I was at this time.... I was in a situation where after 18 months or so, my divorce was going to be cancelled due to lack of work on my behalf from the current attorney. I had 30 days or less to get documents filed or my case would have been dropped as if it never happened and I would have to start all over. I knew it was time to switch attorneys. I felt so misrepresented and unjustly treated. I was basically broke, scared and desperate. Chris Smith was referred to me by a family member who knew my situation & highly recommended him so I consulted with him and ended up hiring him. Chris immediately started filing documents and taking charge! The experience was personable because Chris works directly with his clients. I felt comfortable just letting him handle the case, which wasn’t something I had felt before. Chris had a way of putting me at ease, which was much needed. Chris managed to get my divorce wrapped up in about 60 days. His fee was much more reasonable than the prior attorney but MORE than that, I felt like he was really working with me and had my best interest in mind from the beginning. He did what he told me he would be able to do and then some. Before Chris took my case, I was looking at being a joint managing conservator with my ex-husband who would also have expanded standard visitation. Chris reviewed all of my information and really pushed me to allow him to ask for sole managing conservator because he thought I could get it. For many years I had been conditioned in my relationship to think that I basically had no value. Chris valued me and pushed me to do what he thought was possible instead of just settling. His review of my situation and guidance proved to be most valuable. My divorce is now final. I have sole custody of my three daughters and my ex-husband has only standard visitation. I will be forever thankful to Chris for his coaching, confidence in me, and for making sure that me and my girls received the best possible outcome. I give him a 5-star rating but only because 10 isn’t an option! I MOST highly recommend him. Should I ever need an attorney again, Chris will be the one I contact.

Great to work with

Chris Smith was a lifesaver attorney! Took over my case in the middle of it, after my attorney fell ill, and really helped get to a resolution that I was happy with. He was compassionate, patient, and very helpful with me and my million+ questions that I had during this difficult time. He is very kno...wledgeable in family law and was honest with me and leaned on his experience and expertise to predict outcomes and determine the best course of action in my case. He was very professional and got the job done, but was also just a good person to work with. I definitely recommend Christopher L. Smith for anyone looking for legal assistance/representation.

THE BEST THERE IS!

Mr. Smith is by far the best attorney you will find. He has been my attorney for several years now, and I have ALWAYS felt as though he cared about what happened to me and my child as though we were someone in his own family. That's very difficult to find. He was always very thorough and prepared and... I never worried about the outcome of my case because I knew he had it under control and I would get the best possible outcome for my child. When dealing with family issues, it can be a very scary experience and it is wonderful to know that there is an attorney out there who cares about what happens to his clients and their children, it's not just another case to him. Anyone lucky enough to find Mr. Smith will be just as grateful as I am.

Great Attorney

When I became divorced I was distraught and my judgement was poor. I chose a divorce attorney without doing any research. After all, an attorney is an attorney, right? Wrong! I was also poorly represented in my divorce. On top of that, my ex comes from a wealthy family and had hired an extremely expe...nsive, and actually quite good, attroney from a large law firm. My original attorney had me make concessions I never should have agreed to. I took on all of the debt, had horrible visitation time with my kids, and was going to lose my home. Foolishly and under bad advice I accepted the terms of the divorce. My ex was manipulating me and bullying me legally because of what I agreed to when I signed the original divorce decree. I was stressed by what my life had become and needed things changed. I consulted with a few other attorneys who made big promises about what they would do for me but now, older and wiser, I did my research. I knew I needed effective representation and sought out a good attorney. I had a coworker who had been a paralegal for a family law attorney and had once been represented by Mr. Smith. I now have better than standard visitation with my kids, my debts have been resolved, and I own my house. I was able to receive all of these things at a fraction of what my ex-wife paid her attorney. Chris was always available, always helpful, and very understanding. Take my advice, if you're going through a separation or divorce, do not let your emotions overcome your better judgement. You will regret it. Take the time to think things out, and hire Chris Smith. You will absolutely not regret that decision. You will be represented extremely well by an incredibile attorney who will help guide you through the horrible process of a divorce and child custody issues.
