ESTATE PLANNING AND ESTATE DISPUTES WITHOUT UNNECESSARY COMPLICATIONS. DON'T HESITATE TO CALL: 972-810-7210

Elliott has dedicated his law practice to guiding his clients through the probate process and preparing wills, living trusts, and other estate planning documents. He is skilled at managing family conflicts which arise both before and after the death of any important family member.

Elliott has maintained an AV preeminent (highest possible) rating for both legal ability and ethical standards since 1994 from Martindale-Hubbell, a nationally recognized attorney rating system. His estate planning practice focus with Glast, Phillips & Murray, P.C. is dedicated to estate planning for individuals and married couples. His probate practice includes estates, whether simple or complex, in which the decedent died with or without a will.  His strategies often involve the use of revocable “living” trusts. He places a special emphasis on protection against claims made against a child's inheritance by their creditors and divorcing spouses, along with seeking to avoid costs associated with probate and court created guardianships.

Elliott received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Texas at Austin and also attended The American University of Paris. He has practiced law in Dallas since graduating from The Southern Methodist University School of Law.

Elliott was elected as a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation in 2006. He previously served as the Dallas Bar Association’s Chair of the Minority Participation Committee, the DBA Chair of the Admissions and Membership Committee, and the DBA Chair of the Solo and Small Firm Section. He has been a speaker at the Dallas Bar Association on multiple occasions on the topic of: “Will or Trust: Which is better for the client?"

Estate managed very well
I handle many properties for my foundation and had occasion to need a lawyer in Dallas to settle an estate and sell a home there working from Wilmington NC I was expecting complications. Elliot and his assistant were absolutely on it from the start and helped me settle in almost half the time I have in other transactions. Elliot dots the I and crosses the T's like no one else I have ever dealt with, even the big firms we have had on retainer have been very disappointing in how they handled the cases and the very expensive fees to do simple work. I would highly recommend Elliott and his staff for any transactions you may need representation for they are both honest and efficient in my dealings with them. Sincerely Douglas R Zieschang President AL Spire Foundation

Estate Planning
Elliott was recommended to us from a family member who is an attorney in D.C. He was very kind and gracious with his time. He answered all of our estate planning questions and was able to prepare the documentation we needed and asked for in a timely and professional manner.

Lifetime care as a widow
For me it was a consultation with specific questions concerning paperwork covering lifetime care for me as a widow. With my having moved to another state recently Elliott suggested we have a conference call with an attorney from my state. We covered several issues and I left knowing I could achieve my wishes completely with the guidance he offered. Anyone with such concerns should certainly consult with Elliott for great peace of mind.

Living Trust Attorney
Mr. Burdette, My husband and I are baby boomers and we are very concerned with the proper management of our child's future inheritance. We turned to Elliott Burdette for guidance as to how to design a will and trust. He exceeded our expectations in helping us create an estate plan focused on a living trust. We recommend him highly.

Pour Over Will and Trust Experience
Elliott Burdette worked with my wife and I to create a pour over will and trust along with various other estate planning legal documents for a fixed package price, offering excellent value. Elliott took the time to fully understand our wishes to structure our will and trust to meet our specific needs. He was very professional, likable, and knowledgeable. Drafts of the documents were sent to us by his assistant, Maureen Belew, for our review and edit, which streamlined the process. Drafts were finalized and we met for the signing of the legal documents. Maureen notarized the documents on the spot during our meeting and made copies so we were able to complete the process and take our finalized estate planning packages home with us. Elliott took the time to answer all of our questions and made the complex process of estate planning easier to understand. Based on our experience I highly recommend Elliott Burdette for your estate planning needs.

Creating a Will
My experience with Elliott Burdette was excellent and very professional. I contacted his office for an appointment to discuss creating a Will for myself and a date was set. At our first consultation, he made many good suggestions and was very adept at explaining to me the meaning and purpose of each document. I left feeling very confident that all of my questions had been answered and that the documents I needed were being created perfectly for me. Our next meeting was to finalize and sign the finished documents. I can truly say that the whole experience was quite enjoyable.

Probate Matter
I engaged Elliott to help administer a Texas will through probate. He was a huge help, and we were able to probate the will and wind down the estate in under a year. Elliott has a great grasp of the law and was able to provide sound, practical advice throughout the process. I won't hesitate to work with Elliott and his firm again. I'm an attorney and appreciate good legal work when I see it. I will also be sure to recommend Elliott to friends, colleagues and other attorneys.

Personable and professional
He explained what my options were in detail. He answered my concerns in each option, explaining pros/cons and cost of each option. When I made my decision, I was able to feel I made the best decision for my family without hesitation. We all know that during the time of a death of a family member is very difficult, he helped to lift the burden of what needed to be done in a clear, concise and professional manner. I would recommend Elliott and his firm to both friends and family. A+

I Never Needed an Attorney Before; Thank Goodness I Found Elliott Burdette!
I am an elementary school teacher and after the unexpected death of my elderly neighbor, I found out that she had left me as executor and trustee of her estate. As it turned out, another woman came forward claiming that she was the one that my neighbor really wanted to be in charge of the estate. Worried and very scared, I knew that I needed someone competent, experienced, understanding, and professional to help me follow through on my deceased neighbor's desires. Thank goodness I found Elliott. He calmed my fears, took copious notes, talked me through everything, followed up on all proceedings and was very thorough in his guidance and in his protection of me throughout this case. Because of Elliott's expertise, I was able to follow through on my responsibilities to my dear neighbor and I learned so very much in the process. I would recommend Elliott Burdette highly!! He is top-notch in his field.

Elliott was great with my family. He was very outgoing and friendly but very professional. He is very good at what he does! Elliott got everything for my family that we wanted in our case and without going into too much detail he went above and beyond to make his clients happy. I would highly recommend Elliott Burdette to any of my friends and will continue to do so. Thanks Elliott!!

Review of Elliott E. Burdette
Elliott has been my estate attorney and friend for 7 years. He handled the estates of both my mother and cousin plus he drafted my will, trusts and other paperwork. He is an excellent attorney, kind, understanding, always returning a call when contacted. His staff is equally qualified and available to answer any questions. I have given his name to many friends as the best estate attorney in the Dallas area and will continue to do so. I highly recommend Elliott Burdette as the finest estate attorney in the area and perhaps in the state of Texas.

Elliott Burdette Review
Mr. Burdette is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He may not have quite the attention to detail (i.e. often executor was referred to by the decedent's name). His staff also lacked attention to detail. Mr. Burdette is very pleasant and truly values his clients.

Not an effective advocate
Not a strong advocate in addressing my matter. Difficult to reach, lacked attention to detail and passive when action was needed. Would not hire him again.
