Before becoming an attorney, I was an adult probation officer and worked in a Texas prison. One of my degrees is in psychology which led to my license as a chemical dependancy counselor, or LCDC. I also worked for the Texas mental health department or MHMR in Denton County as well as Taylor and surrounding counties.

Definately will hire again!
Shawn has helped my husband and I on numerous occassions from simple case dismissals, to criminal court cases, and even a huge CPS case. He was very attentive and would advise us of different options that we had which included different outcomes by still reiterating his legal advice. He is very nice ...

Are you kidding?!
I hired Shawn because I had heard that he was a beast in the courtroom. Much to my surprise, he's more like dandelion. My case was very simple; defend the allegations from CPS against my wife and myself. We had the evidence for our case, statements from friends, family, and aquaintences, financial, h...
I hate to hear that you are unhappy with how your case was going. Treating my clients well and obtaining the best results on their cases is my top priority, as you can see from the other reviews. CPS cases have unique challenges. They also take a long time to complete. This can be emotionally draining for the parents because it is extremely rare that there is a quick or easy way to dispose of the case. There are also multiple appearances in court with no dramatic changes, especially in the first months. During this period I find that diplomacy and picking one’s battles with the other parties in the case is the most effective way of reaching the client’s goals. These cases are marathons not sprints. So, I hope that the case goes well for you. If there is anything else I can do for you please let me know.

15-Minute AVVO Consult
I opted to get a 2nd opinion on a family matter/protective order case so I chose the AVVO 15 minute phone option for the first time. I think I learned more in this 15 minutes then I did in a few calls and in office visits that lasted an hour or more! Shawn was very nice and direct and offered inval...

Extraordinary Lawyer
Shawn, has been my lawyer a little over a decade now. He's knowledgable in numerous areas of law. Besides my father, husband, and God... He's the next man that I can trust with no hesitation. No doubt! He always stands in good faith, and one of the most ethical professional lawyers I've crossed paths...
"I have known Shawn for many years and he is a skilled and experienced attorney. He helped me tremendously when I first opened my own law practice. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of legal assistance."
"I've known Shawn for years, and referred a number of clients to him. I trust him, and I refer clients to him because I know he will provide superb representation. Shawn has the knowledge, experience, and talent to be a good attorney, but there are plenty of good attorneys. Shawn is a great attorney because he cares about his clients. He wants the best for them, and it shows in his work and the results he brings in his cases."
"Shawn is a smart, conscientious attorney who cares about his clients. He is very knowledgeable about criminal law and I would trust him to handle any criminal defense issue. I definitely recommend this attorney."
