Results! Results! Results!

Mike will work hard for you. He may not agree with everything you want. But he definitely will show you the path. Mike will also fight hard for you in the courtroom. He will try to save you a lot of money. This is the most honest lawyer I have ever met. I've talked to several lawyers and I shopped ...around but this guy really helped me out a lot. I was able to get 50/50 custody of my child. The opposing side was trying to do standard visitation. Im really glad i hired mike. Take care of mike and he will take care of you! Treat him with respect and he will respect you.

Nightmare Experience

I would never on any day recommend this attorney. I hired him and quickly changed to a new attorney. I wish I had known of the disciplinary actions, I would have submitted my personal experience of him & his practices. He asked that i sign a blank retainer, confirming that i could trust him this was ...their usual procedure. It was my first time needing representation and I thought he's here to help me, so I signed it. He did not represent me when it was my day in court because he was representing another client before a different judge. My court/judge waited on him as I tried multiple times to get his attention and when he finally showed up, the judge was going to reset the hearing date. He interrupted the judge by saying, he could do his portion in 10 minutes or less. Needless to say, he filled in the contract with an amount double what he quoted me and he got paid 10K. Then he put my case into a motion that my new attorney had to work to get changed costing me even more money. He never returned any calls and when I went to his office to retrieve the paperwork I had given him, he put me off for days and then copied it over and over until I could hardly carry it. Remember, one, ten minute hearing before a judge. When my new attorney requested my information from him, known as professional courtesy, details of requests, hearings, etc. He was still being notified by the court of my upcoming court date because he was still the attorney of record, he waited until after that hearing to send the paperwork. Again my new attorney, had to go around things instead of just a straight shot. This man was paid for nothing, because there was no legal representation. A true case in point, he will reap what he has sown-no ethics whatsoever. He just took advantage of an already difficult situation.

I have absolutely no idea who this. It does not sound like an actual client. When someone posts a review anonymously it is very hard to respond because a person can post whatever they want whether it is true or not. I would ask whomever this to post their real name so I can address these unfounded allegations. That's the problem with these sites a person can post anything with no proof with no repercussions. I get most of my cases on thumbtack where I have over 95 reviews with a 4.7 out of 5 star rating. Michael Rubin

Speeding Ticket w/Missed Court Date

I hired Micheal Rubin because I saw all of the outstanding reviews he had with prior cases, so I decided to give him a try. His office legal team gave me all of the logistics before paying the fee. I was advised to attend the court proceedings if I wanted the case dismissed, reduced, or unless I was ...advised otherwise. I met Mr. Rubin in court for the first time and he was absolutely pleasant, he’s a very nice guy. I attended court to set a dismissal/decision date. I didn’t stay more than 15 minutes. He asked if I could be dismissed. That made me happy. Afterwards, the plan was to come to court to get the ticket dismissed, but I couldn’t leave work due to a shortage. I couldn’t notify him because work was extremely busy. I was really upset and I felt bad! I just knew since I couldn’t come that the ticket wouldn’t be dismissed and I had to pay $270. Well needless to say, Mr. Rubin called me and advised me that the ticket was dismissed, and it wouldn’t be on my driving record. I was ecstatic!!!! Please try him out!!! It’s worth the fee. Great lawyer , but....

Michael represented me 2X . Both times divorce proceedings from the same person. Pros: Michael kicks ass in court when prepared and full loaded with evidence. Motion hearing when he had no prep time, and took the case 2 days prior, he still completely destroyed opposing counsel. Motion hearing whe...n he took on 2 attorneys at once, both of whom kept speaking over him, he fired back with amazing responses. He won almost all inter-rim attorneys fees. He got me max child support, temp alimony, settlement, etc. (Though I know I could have gotten more if he actually tried). I was always nervous when walking in, but usually confident of Michael's talents once a hearing began. All in all in the courtroom he is phenomenal. Cons: Files too many frivolous motions. Failed to appear for vital hearing. We butted heads about the course my case should take. Doesn't always do what is in your nor your family's best interest if there's no attorneys fees that will benefit him. His paralegal... Lord have mercy, she's overworked, and needs an assistant or 2 , so expect errors (typos, or names placed in wrong area on orders) due to her ridiculous workload. His paralegal may not call you back if you owe fees, and a hearing is approaching. His paralegal didn't like me much, not because I was rude, nor disrespectful, but because she didn't think my case was worth the effort. I did alot of my own research, copied all my own evidence, came to court prepared with everything Michael needed with copies for us, opposing counsel, and the judge. I guess the pro in that was it saved me money in having his paralegal do it, which probably she wouldn't have done anyway. The case lasted way too damn long, and now though it's over I feel as though I gained nothing from it. Many of the same issues I plead for Michael to address, that dealt with serious family and legal issues have resurfaced and now must be addressed because it wasn't addressed. Final thoughts: If you have the money to retain Michael, and maintain his fees then go ahead. Remember, Michael runs a business. He's not your counselor, not your friend, he is your attorney. Some attorneys sell you the "I'm here to support you" bullshit, then turn around and treat you worse than your ex. Then you end up feeling like you're in another bad relationship, and desperately seeking an out without the collateral damage. At times, this is how I felt with Michael. We just always butted heads. However, I'm glad I met Michael. I thought I would hate him for what he put me through but at the end of the day as much of a pain in the ass I thought he was, he did what I needed of him to do, and that was screw my ex, and make him pay for the misery and torment I endured during the course of our marriage. I didn't get everything I believe I deserve from my ex spouse, but now that I hear horror stories from my colleagues and the fact they didn't hold their exes financially accountable for the care of their children. I thank God Michael was there. He still gets on my freaking nerves. I know Michael reads this. Don't you dare respond, just be glad I finally wrote the review you'd been asking for.

Great lawyer!!

I searched tirelessly for a lawyer to take on my complex case. Micheal was the only lawyer to not only reach out to me but take the case at very reasonable price. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. I would highly recommend him!

updated on 06/13/2024

Fully Probated Suspension issued in TX, 2015

updated on 09/07/2016

Fully probated suspension means an attorney is technically suspended but may still practice law. The State monitors the lawyer's activities during the suspension to make sure that he or she does not repeat the behavior.

Michael’s comment:

“All the discipline is a result of having to shut down my practice. It is complicated shutting down an practice and mistakes were made. Prior to this-I have never been in trouble with the law or any other organization. Since starting to work again-I have limited my case load and if you see my reviews on Thumbtack you will see that my clients are very satisfied with my work. These incidents occurred in late 2012-early 2013. Nothing has occurred since then. Michael Rubin”

Public Reprimand issued in TX, 2015

updated on 09/07/2016

Public reprimand means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State gives the lawyer a public reprimand in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior. Details of the infraction are made part of the public record.

Michael’s comment:

“In December of 2012 I became very ill and had to shut down my practice. I did not work for 8 months. Mistakes were made in closing the practice. None of the discipline had anything to do with my competency as a lawyer. These events occurred in 2012 and early 2013 but the cases were not resolved until 2015. I would ask that you consider my client reviews here and on other sites. Please also call me to discuss any concerns you may have. Thanks Michael Rubin”
